A couple of days ago I started to struggle with constant “extruder skipping” / or “motor skipping”
My P1P was in use for 2 months with no issues. After 1 month of use, I build an enclosure - no issues at all, printing flawlessly
Then I started to deal with constant skips / sometimes clogs for no reason
My initial setup is P1P + enclosure + chamber fan + MC Board fan + Chanber fan + hardened steel gears and nozzle
I use all default settings of Bambulab studio
To fix “extruder skipping” / or “motor skipping” I tried:
Assemble/reassemble extruder
Change hardened gears to stock stainless steel gears
Changed nozzles 2 times (from hardened to stainless, then from stainless to brand new stainless, so I don’t understand the reason for potential clogging)
I do some cold pulls from my extruder to clean my nozzles
I tried to use 3 different materials (PLA, ASA, and 2 different PETG). First, clog I get with ASA
Reset my Bambulab studio to the factory
Downgrade firmware of P1P from 1.0.4 to 1.0.3
Can be this issue related to the extruder motor?
I almost gave up on this issue
PS: excuses for my English. I’m not a native English speaker
Attaching some pieces of evidence of my issue

Wondering did you make sure your MC board fan is working properly.
I enclosed my P1P and added fan etc.
I forgot the MC fan g-code and didn’t realize the fan wasn’t running and I had very strange issues with my P1P
I found that I had forgot the g-code added it to the strat g-code for the machine, made sure it was running when it was supposed to be and haven’t had issues since.
Finally, I’ve reached support!
They said they’d send me motor replacement
So after their investigation of my videos/photos support decided it’s hardware issue with the motor
Hi @aguretsvlad I have the same issue, in light of support taking in the magnitude of weeks to respond, did they provide instructions to replace? I can only find a guide for X1 no P1.
Maybe it’s not the same problem. I changed the extruder gear and started having this issue, make sure the two bearings on that gear’s shaft are in place. In my case one of the bearings remained on the previous gear and I didn’t notice.
Any updates on this issue ? I have the same… changed motor… no fix… starting to get frustrated… Is this after some update I wonder… seeing a lot of this same type issue lately on forums…
Ohhyeah…brand new nozzle… still same… different filament…same issue…
“cold printer” works… after about 30 min in print, when things get to a temp, it seems, then it begins… I suspect its some board solder issue maybe, soldering “opens” when getting tempered…
Sometimes there are problems with stepper motors if the cables connecting the control board to the motor make poor contact. The ends of the wires in the connectors lose the connection. At first, problems with dropouts occur rarely, but over time they become more and more frequent until the problem becomes permanent. The stepper then no longer runs smoothly but stutters. Steppers are very robust and do not break easily, unlike the connection cables. Therefore, if I have to replace the stepper, I would look there first. It is also possible that the stepper has a problem with the connections (sockets) on it.
