Desing question multicolour print

Hi,

Been designing for some time, but I haven’t done any multi-colour design yet.

I have a personal crest

that I would like to probably print in thin wafers that I could integrate/ glue inside other designs as my maker’s mark.

But I am unsure on the quality/ sharpness of multicolour printing but also how thin it can be and or how to not waste a whole lot of material in colour changes. what would be the best approach/ advice for it?

It can be pretty sharp even with a 0.4 nozzle and doesn’t waste that much filament either if it’s not tall. It can be very thin, but make it at least 2 layers.

Probably the dimension will be driven by the thin white lines in the black tangled portion of the logo. But you’ll have to definitely try and error to find the best balance.
I use to slice a test of the model in Bambu Studio to see if the fine details I want are there.

The quality is quite good with a .4 nozzle. Like mentioned above the thin white line between the black twist will be the only detail that might be tight. It will need to be at least ~.45mm think to get that detail in your print. On how thin you could make it I am not sure. I have not tested much thinner than a mm. If you are wanting it to be small enough to use as a mark on other prints though you may need a .2 nozzle to get the detail you want.

I have a 0.2mm noozle, but it’s currently clogged by PETG from when I tried using it (big adhesion issues, and no precision gains, so I abandoned that avenue)

But for this I may try. How to unclog PETG? heat in oven to let it melt?

You can heat it in the printer.
