The Centauri Carbon pricing at $299 is insane and won’t stay that way.
The AU pricing is $699 (444usd) for preorder and a retail price of $874 (555usd).
299usd is currently $470 here. All prices before shipping.
Not only is this well above the conversion rates, it also shows that they either
- intend to increase the price worldwide to something like 399 - 499 usd, or
- Will keep those prices in the market they want to disrupt (US and EU)
If we were getting it even remotely close to the US price I’d give it a go, but $699/$874 is not in the realm of “worth it even if it has issues”, preorders are months off assuming there are no delays, longevity is unknown yet so I wouldn’t be building a farm out of them at that price, and the big one for me is. What corners are being cut to get it to 299usd?
