This is old. But I have more than 400 WiFi devices in my network. It’s not hard to manage if you actually try.
+1 Ethernet…next printer I will be looking outside of the X1Carbon solely for this reason. It is a shame as everything else is pretty much a win. That being said, it is too big of a deal not to have a direct ethernet connection.
The good news is that Original Prusa MK4 has one. So if you are all deciding between printers based on that feature - you know which one to choose.
BTW my simple Adventurer 2 had both the Ethernet and USB. Not having wired connectivity is really bad for printer in this price range… I did not realized X1 has no ethernet nor USB…
Oh my that is not a good news. Seems like it’s going back to Bambu…
I have had my X1C for around 4 months, it sits about 2-3 metres from the WAP and I am constantly having connectivity issues or streaming camera issues. As an IT network engineer, not being able to wire this to our network with an Ethernet plug less than a metre away from the printer is the most disappointing and frustrating thing I have found with this printer.
I have to constantly turn it off and on again to reconnect the device, or mid print logout and re-bind it to my account to force it to reconnect.
My office runs on fibre and a gigabit network using CAT6 cabling, and no other device on the network has this many connectivity issues - whether they are cabled or using Wi-Fi. For the cost it was to get this printer (over $2000 AUD), it should be better, my $500 laser printer has both Wi-Fi and Ethernet and works flawlessly on both.
The inability to use any USB storage is also a frustration, but not as much as Ethernet (or the lack of it) is.
I would gladly buy a board or parts replacement/upgrade from Bambu if it added Ethernet to my X1C.
Had my X1C for a week. I’m blown away at how good this is compared to my old Raise3D.
Connectivity is my only disappointment. No RJ45, no 5ghz WiFi. I don’t seem to be able to get a consistent connection.
That sounds more like a defective part inside the X1 or something causing interference than poor quality wireless in the X1. I haven’t had any of those wifi connectivity issues with mine and I haven’t seen many people with wifi connectivity issues. Maybe Bambu support can help resolve the issue by sending a new part after their usual troubleshooting.
The issue is that the Handy App still shows the progress, so it obviously is feeding back information, however the video stops working - generally a restart of the printer or reconnection to my account or WiFi gets this working again, but I can’t do that mid print.
Any sort of hack to add ethernet to the X1C would be a dream, subbing to this thread.
I agree a unit that costs near 1500 and without a usb port or ethernet port, guess bambu is back in the stone age and stuck with the theory of droids, lets get up to date i mean their other machines have a usb port but the more expensive does not? wth? get up to date on these make a board to add to current ones i would be willing to pay for it as I am sure many others would to.
