Etsy copyright claims, anyone have experience?

II unfortunately have had to file a copyright claim to etsy for items of my design being sold.
This is not a first, usually I contact the seller requesting them to remove, they respond & comply & all is amicable & well.
Recently found one of my items on sale in a few places & all but one has removed them & instead of a response they have blocked me from sending messages.

I’ve registered the design via etsy but as a small creator I feel nothing will be done.
Wondering if anyone else has had a similar issue & has experience of etsy’s process.

Brick based skadis minifigure stand by NSprints - MakerWorld is the item. Which is a shame as it’s such an easy one to design.

Share the link to the Etsy store here as well that has your design on it.

The community will usually take a look and see if there are others there and we all generally reach out to Etsy.

I put up a post the last time a store took at least a dozen models from the MW designers and sold them without consent.

This is the Etsy listing in question https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1759109907/minifigure-display-hook-stand-for-ikea

My design is fairly obvious as I elongated the front edge to hold the Lego princess ones with dresses for a niece.

it’s not about being a small or big creator, as long as you have properly set the information for your claim, etsy will indeed take it down, it does take a few days, but they do it

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

In my opinion i wouldn’t contact the seller to ask them to remove it, i would go the the site owner (etsy) immediately and report it. Otherwise there’s no punishment for them and they won’t learn from it. Why go mildly on people stealing your stuff, trying to profit from it?

Same on Makerworld. No pwetty pweasy remove my model pwease.

You stole it and it will have consequences.

But that’s just my take.

It’s usually small sellers. I sell on etsy, it’s how I funded the hobby & I know how severe content strikes can be so I try to be polite about it.
Up to this point the people I’ve contacted have been on the same page, one insisted I sell commercial licenses somehow which I now do.
But if there have to be consequences for actions, so be it.

That doesn’t exempt them from any rules. It doesn’t matter how big or small they are. Don’t steal

Apparently they don’t and thus they keep doing it.

They need to learn that you can’t just take other people’s stuff and expect to get away with it without some sort of punishment.

So just an update.
My first copyright claim failed, they said not enough detail. Originally of was the makerworld listing. Second attempt the offending listing was removed. This time I included a short write up & a link to the actual deisgn I drew up in cad (I used tinkercad)
You are limited to the amount of characters you can include.
So if you do have to go this route then it should work if you have the relevant details of the piece.

Hi,

This is great information and I ma glad you managed to get it resolved.

I am going through a similar situation and my claim was rejected initially with the comments that the infringment ype was incorrect. I use “Industrial Design Right” as the infringement type. Any advice or what type of infringement right did you use?

Thanks, any advice would be much appreciated.
