First few (~50) Layers look fuzzy

Hey, I am trying to print a Vase, using Sunlu ASA, but I allways have the same Problem. The bottom few layers (about 1cm at 0.2 mm layer height => first 50 layers) don’t look good. Any Ideas why? The issue occures with and with out Slow down for overhangs turned on.

Anythings I can try would help.
all layers above are perfect.

Thanks in advance

  1. Check the bed temperature. Depending on your build plate, you can set it as high as 110°C.
  2. If adjusting the bed temperature doesn’t help, try increasing the nozzle temperature slightly.

These are the first things I would check. It could also be a blockage or a flow rate issue.

Looks like part is not cooling properly. Make sure fans are on and use a lower layer height or cooler nozzle temp in addition to slowing down.

Bed temp increase and nozzle temp increase aren’t going to help, just make it worse.

I am trying your tipps right now, I have tryed multiple different settings, but so far not successfull, do you have recommended settings? Im printing Sunlu ASA.

Can the print speed really be the problem if the problem only occurs on the bottom layers, the layers above are perfect…

That depends on the build plate and several other factors. I experienced the same issue with my Carbon Fiber Plate, but after increasing the bed temperature and nozzle temperature, and turning off cooling for the first four layers, I was able to achieve a perfect result.

For my Carbon Fiber Plate I use these settings to get a perfect first layer and a perfect start of my model.

I found the solution myself! The issue only occurred at certain scales. After investigating the differences, I noticed that Gap Fill was being applied to the bottom few layers.

Once I switched the wall generator to Arcane, the problem was resolved.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help!
