There’s a thumb for ya… it’s a finger right

This is still going on?
Really? I mean, you guys have to be arguing over something else, surely not finger size. I’m afraid to read the thread completely and find out it’s still about fingers.

Holy Hand Grenade…

Bambu? Very low print quality compared to Prusa. That’s my experience. I have returned the X1C to the dealer and I’m waiting for a refund.
MK3S: >4 years
MK4: >1 year
X1C: 8 days (lemon?)

Think you were unlucky there, have a X1C for about 2 years, still going strong

What is your definition of a broken printer? Mine was engulfed in filament, fried circuit boards, and trying to self destruct and it was almost halfway to being ā€œbrokenā€.

I was quite upset myself after having my X1C for 3 months and hardly been used to experience major problems and had to replace this, then had to replace that, but somehow I did it , felt better at what I accomplished. I feel your pain and anger!

bambu did well again this year on the 2024 3D Printing Industry Awards

although i would add that they need to invest in the customer experience, not only on the equipment if they want this to be sustainable

Or try to print PLA right after you printed PAHT-CF, you get clog of hell and have to spend some minutes to fix that

So, why bother to continue posting on the Bambu forum? Your experience seems to be an outlier, but carry on I guess. :person_shrugging:

Something I do when switching between filaments with drastically different printing conditions is to use some cleaner filament in between. I use the touchscreen to tell it to unload the high temp stuff, then I ask it to load and then unload the cleaner filament, THEN switch to the new type. My only evidence is negative - I haven’t had any filament clogs doing this - but if nothing else, it makes me feel like I’ve done something.

My problem was pure user error, I know that PLA would be to soft at the extruder if I load it before the unit have cooled down.
I have zero problem not running cleaner filament between.
Only if I switch from PAHT-CF to something white I would purge a little bit longer to not get any leftovers in the white filament.

But whatever works

My solution to the big fingers problem is getting a young Filipino man to do the changes for me. Second benefit is he likes watching videos. I was raised reading instructions on paper, still prefer that. Though I’m beginning to voluntarily use wiki for instructions.

Well huh. That sounds appropriate…

What do you use as cleaner filament?

I don’t know how you judge the quality of the print, but of course if the Bambulab prints 0.28 extra draft and the Prusa prints 0.16 fine print, then the quality of the Prusa is indeed better :grinning:. But if both print at the same resolution, then the Bambulab is incomparably better! I know what I’m talking about - I own both. If you have the experience you mention, I don’t believe you’ve ever owned this printer. Here on the forum it’s difficult to deduce whether the post was written by a 10-year-old boy or a 70-year-old grandmother :unamused:. In any case, I stand by my statement that what you wrote is not based on your experience or you have never seen a 3D printer, whether it’s a Prusa or a Bambulab .

What really needs fixing is to have a tangle spoil detection. A1 mini has it and it’s a 1/5 the cost. Doesn’t make any sense. Have lost so many prints and time.

how many tangles are you getting?
2 1/2 years I’ve had 2, one (maybe both) were my doing.

There are a few brands. I’m pretty sure what I use was made by eSun. It doesn’t take much, just something to pick up any leftover CF or GF filler and provide a transition.

This would be awesome. I switched from Ender printers because I was tired of having to fix a problem every few weeks. Near my breaking point it was a new problem every new print. I would’ve gladly paid someone to come take that headache away.
