Gift Cards are SOLD OUT?

Hey guys! I was planning on cashing in a bunch of gift cards on Makerworld this week. Then when I saw that they were “Sold out” I was extremely surprised. I would like to know if anyone has seen anything like this before? Also how could you sell out of ‘online’ gift cards? (I was planning on taking advantage of the black Friday sale but this has stopped me)

Also, right before the sold out appeared, I applied for one of the gift cards, so what would happen to it? Also does anyone have any idea for how long this will be?

Ya, I just checked…showing Sold Out for me also.
I sure hope they’re not going to raise the points.

Yeah, that would be very annoying to see a raise in point prices.

Happens. They are “sold out” because those aren’t actually on-demand items, but Bambu “purchases” them from shopify in batches and then users can buy them with points. Since GiftCards now lasts 10 years there’s no reason to wait in order to redeem bunch of them at once.

Yeah, I honestly shouldn’t of saved up on points, kind of forgot.

Typically only see this from the EU/UK store.

Guess enough people in the US are cashing out their points this weekend and hit the limit. Give it a day or so, they’ll be back.

It’s good to know it will only take a few days! Thanks!

hope it comes back , my reason to keep going

I’ve never seen that, and I bought a complete P1S with gift cards only. Another thing that puzzles me is: why do you only need 490 points to redeem a card when I have to collect 524 points?

Because $40 is less than 40€

It’s because I’m using the American shop, your most likely using the European shop. So the points cost is different.

This happens every once in a while.

This is not a panic moment. It is common in the virtual space of real money and affects many businesses.

They have an API that claims more from the pool and that will need to be triggered.

Give it a few hours, usually a day maximum and availability will be back.

Until they run a store of their own making, this will continue.

[Update]

Copying and pasting is killing me today! I left the 35 from the £35 in the calculation.

I had 35€ in USD

@Henlor is the one to shame me this time.

Those in the U.K. require 535 points to redeem for a £35 gift card.

It is meant to be exchange rates. As they fluctuate, it can work for and against us.

All in USD

£35 = $45.36
$40 = $40.00
40€ = $43.19 (correct value just now)

In points: (USD / points per country)

UK // 535 = 0.08478
US // 490 = 0.08163
EU // 524 = 0.08242

Correction
40€ = $43.18

UK // 535 = 0.08478
US // 490 = 0.08163
EU // 524 = 0.08240

Thanks bro! I appreciate the answer! :grinning:

Most people here know I only have one working ete and the working one is only 75% on a good day.

Today is not a good day to EYE.

The calculations I provided after my answer have been tweaked.

I saw the 30.00 and 40.00 cards sold out at Anycubic when I bought my printer. Probably because at that time they had an anniversary sale going(why I bought the printer). Couple days later, sale was over and those out of stock gift cards were restocked.

I hit that as well, I could cash in all of my points using different gift card values.

They use the identical underlying store - Shopify.

They’re back. Get 'em while I type out 25 characters.
