H2C Other Build Plates

Congrats!

That’s a “funny” coincidence… My re-delivery of the Glacier from Amazon is scheduled for tomorrow, and I got the shipping notice the same day that those plates started showing as in stock on the BIQU site (for me in the US, anyway). We’ll see if they managed to actually put something in the box this time! :crossed_fingers:

The Darkmoon plate is beautiful, definitely unlike any of the BL H2C plates, on either side. I broke it in with some PEBA Air experiments, because you know, it’s more fun to try two new things at the same time than just one (and very scientific). Got it to stick fine, and release, from both surfaces after raising the temps a bit, but with that stuff there’s a fine line somewhere between just sticking w/out warp and getting hardened on the plate side after a longer print, which also makes it harder to get off. (Very cool filament BTW! Printable low-temp open-cell foam rubber, basically.)

Also printed some PLA T+ on the satin side, which sticks crazy well, and I was scared to leave it on there too long after print (will try dropping temps even more next time). Seemed like adhesion was increasing as it cooled, but IDK for sure yet. One downside with having carbon sheet on one side is the plate isn’t very flexible for getting prints off of the PEI side. Lovely smooth surface on the prints.

I’ll add more closeup comparison photos to my other collection once I get the Glacier and try some more “scientific” tests on all the plates (maybe in a new thread).
