Has anyone else had a problem activating the new H2C serial number when they upgrade from H2D? I’m on my 3 request over 4 days. The last time they rejected my request
I know they are different models, the old is the H2D the new is the H2C from the board included it the upgrade kit I purchased from Bambu.
The first time they rejected it was because I did not include a picture of the old QR code l just had the old serial number. It took them 2 1/2;days to reject and never notified me I just happened to check the support page and saw the rejection.
Sorry for the rant, when they said the upgrade process had a high difficulty I assumed it was do to the actual changing of parts not in dealing with their support staff.
Yes, that is the form I have been using but thank you for the suggestion. I guess I’ll have to wait a day or two for them to review my latest serial number update request and this time they might accept it. There has to be an easier way to communicate then wait a day or two between communication and hope the update my H2D serial number with the H2C upgrade Serial number.
That may be the problem or it may be something else. It has frustrated me to no end though. I felt the upgrade process went well otherwise and the wiki instructions were pretty darn good. Just seems that the simplest part has become the most difficult.
That’s frustrating. Hopefully, it gets approved soon.
For reference, mine was activated in 4 hours from sending the request and receiving the E-mail. I provided both the H2D and H2C serial numbers along with photos of the H2D touchscreen and the AP board’s QR code to make sure the form was complete.
That’s exactly what I did the first time and 2 days later they denied my request due to not having a pic of the old QR code. I sent a pic of the H2D screen with serial number instead as the old board didn’t have a QR code. I later realized the old qr code was actually on the frame of the printer not the board (my fault). The real frustrating thing about that was they never notified me they had denied it, I just happened to check the support screen (which is a different support screen for the serial number update then what is used for other support tickets.
The 2nd time I submitted the request I included the old QR code pic and that’s when they old serial number and new serial numbera were from 2 different printer models so they wouldn’t work. Yes they were from 2 different printer models, old=H2D new=H2C as per the upgrade kit I ordered from Bambu.
Now I have to wait a couple of days to see what they say to me pointing that out.
I’d say you could just lie to the slicer, slice for h2c, put gcode on the sd card and keep going while you wait, but idk if that is viable in that particular upgrade process. I know the A1 can behave this way, while waiting for SN replacement. AMS was basically disabled while doing so, and that is ok for A1, but H2C might throw up
Ok, for those that are interested, It appears Bambu has finally activated my new H2C serial number after 5 days and 3 tickets, the last 2 tickets being identical.
Now, however, I am getting an error code that my printer is located in the wrong region.
My only guess is they assigned it to the wrong region when they activated the new H2C serial number as my old H2D serial number had no issues.
Also, I did not previously mention that after ordering the upgrade kit, when they finally got around to shipping it, they only sent 2 boxes of the 5 so I had to submit a ticket to get them to send the rest. Their initial response was they had shipped the upgrade kit (one of the boxes is called upgrade kit but the rest of the parts are in other boxes for a total of 5 boxes (their wiki is very explicit about this). Then they realized their error and apologized and sent the remaining parts. Additionally, when I ordered the upgrade kit I also ordered and extra 2 .4mm nozzles for I would have a total of 6 .4mm, the 4 that came in the upgrade along with a .2 and .6. They only sent 1 additional .4mm nozzle. When I submitted a ticket about that they said they would send another .4mm nozzle “This time” but I still haven’t received that.
I’m not having very good luck with this upgrade LOL.
Looks like startup issues, given they probably send 10? maybe 20? kits so far and put in a lot of time in making them/wiki/docs they should put a special support person on this. It not only shows little respect to first people willing to upgrade but also all the internal engineers and copy writers who worked hard on this kit. Not smart…
I agree, it doesn’t make sense. The wiki documents were extensive and showed a lot of time and effort. They new about this upgrade process for a long time as the H2D was designed with the upgrade in mind as evidenced by the predrilled holes for C parts and other things.
As bambu seems to have to put together special advance kits for the stock error on first orders, they may have shipped you a region locked H2C AP board. If your H2D was not region locked (China), I would submit a ticket referencing your H2D order number from a non region locked shop and the H2C upgrade kit order number to sort it out.
I just submitted a ticket regarding the region issue. I did not use the language you did to describe the issue but hopefully they will fix it. I just have to wait a day or 2 for them to get around to responding to me.
I mean, I had to submit the old serial number (I assume it was my correct region as it worked) and the new serial number so they have all the information.
