H2D does not work - customer service nightmare

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Yes firmware updated, yes Handy is uodated. Yes hotends are checked for alignment. I didn’t chose option 1 because I have a project that required a 2 nozzle print and that’s why I bought the H2D which would have saved many hours of print time had it worked! Thanks again for everyone’s help. I wish there was a fix. I really feel that I got a lemon as I tried everything I can think of. Funny thing is there some error codes are not listed in wiki yet, and yet customer service refers you to wiki for answers!

Welcome to dealing with Chinese companies. They’re awful and care about money more than anything else and it shows.

The Elegoo Neptune Max 4 was the biggest nightmare of my life. If you think Bambu customer service sucks then you haven’t used Elegoo. ■■■■ machine with so many issues and design flaws and they refuse to do anything except make empty promises. They promised to ship me replacement parts multiple times and I never received them. In the end I never got it working and they screwed me out of over $500 when I’ve bought ten grand worth of filament in the last year alone. No more elegoo and no more AMS issues as a result. Lol

I get the part where they won’t just send a new one out without receiving theirs or some form of payment, that’s pretty standard to keep the scammers away… but they lost me at making you get back in the preorder line at the store, with presumably increased prices. There needs to be a customer service process to just charge your card and ship you a printer ASAP.

I hate hearing your experience. My X1E is a workhorse and I’ve been looking forward to the multi material capabilities.

Like any other product ever made in the history of mankind

The H2D has been a nightmare, I regret buying it every single day that goes by. Plus customer support is completely useless. Takes 5 times to give a reply and its not even a reply to the thing that I asked.

Thank you. The latest is to wire them money but the advanced shipment will take 2-3 weeks and they offered me 2 refill rolls of filament while I wait! Wow! So now I am opting for a standard return because it is the same wait time as the advanced return. Crazy - I regret making this purchase honestly.

Really frustrating for sure. Seems like they’d have held some for stock to deal with the inevitable warranty issues.

Either go away, or learn to be kind and positive.

I do feel your pain, I had boughta Elegoo Neptune 4 max, loved it when worked but 80% of time it wasnt working, one fault or another, I contacted forums, asked questions of Elegoo support but the answer staring me in the face was “get rid of it” and I did, I returned it to Amazon who takes returns unlike Bambu Labs,. I also have two Snapmaker machines I love and their support is stellar! and I have on occasion compared results between my Snapmaker J1s and my X1c and to tell you the truth ,the x1c is not all that fast, the poop issue is an environmental (mini) disaster that I am surprised no one has raised questions about yet. I hope you get the answers you want unfortuntely no one but Bambu is selling the new H2d yet but if you can next time buy from a company that will accept a return. Btw my Snapmaker A350T has a dual extruder (optional) but available not IDEX like the nJ1 but useful, support filament on one extruder and prime filament on the other but no AMS yet.

Really? Someone should be kind and positive about a horrible customer service experience?

I’m seriously thinking of canceling my order (“shipping around April 30th”) and waiting until Micro Center has them in stock.

That way if I get a lemon I can return it without the nightmare.

[edit] Looks like that might not be so easy:

"Once an order is confirmed, we cannot make any changes to it. If you still want to cancel, you have the option to refuse the delivery. Please note that in the case of a non-defective return, you will be responsible for the round-trip shipping fees.

For additional details, please review our return and refund policy. If your order is not yet confirmed or has not been shipped with an ETD, you can contact customer service to attempt a cancellation. We typically respond to emails within 1-3 days, but we cannot guarantee a successful cancellation."

I guess I could do a credit card charge-back, but I wonder if that will put me on Bambu’s s*it list, if they have one.

An intermediate position is to reject a damage package. I doubt the unresolvable failure rate on units with undamaged packages is even 1%.

My box had slight to moderate damage but the printer is fine. Bambu is obviously highly successful at getting undamaged units to customers.

Yep, the return shipping is steep. I considered the credit card chargeback too, but need to stay in good graces with Bambu since I have 4 other X1e printers, just in case the chargeback created problems. FYI: It has been 4 days (2 business days) and I am still waiting on a return shipping label from them to return the defective printer for a replacement. I wish you the best and I wish I had waited too! But, thinking positive I am hopeful it will be resolved at some point. I was hoping to use the dual extruder for a project right now, but have to rethink it all!

It’s also possible to have no visible external damage and a damaged or malfunctioning printer, like the Kickstarter X1C I got.

They sent me a replacement part without hassle, but since I hadn’t gotten to the project I wanted to use it for, I eventually sold it without fixing or using it.

I had some issues with a filament and they took care of me right away. They are reasonable to work with. It does take time but at the end they were able to resolve my issue. I do not see any issues with H2D for them resolve your issues. Give it some time for them to help you out. I wish you best of luck in getting it resolved.

Perhaps for you, but it seems that you can’t necessarily count on it, this thread’s starter being just one example.

I’m wondering, as with new products like this H2D unit coming out, that it would be best to wait rather than jump in right away and invest so much in something that hasn’t been (Beta) tested sufficiently. After all, we the consumers are the Beta testers who, with adequate feedback, will assist Bambu Labs in working out all the kinks. I presently have an X1C with over 1000 hours on it and it works flawlessly. Hopefully by the time I’m ready for an upgrade (within the year), that all these anomalies will be resolved.

Why does anyone think this is unusual or somehow just a thing with “money grubbing Chinese” companies? Prusa would have you send your printer back in for testing too.
