New H2D Firmware Available for Public Beta Testing!
We’re excited to announce that firmware V01.02.01.00 for the H2D is now available through our Public Beta Program.
How to Join the Beta
To access the beta firmware, simply join the Beta Firmware Program via the Bambu Handy app under Me → Beta Firmware Program.
Once enrolled, the update will be pushed to your device gradually.
Want to Switch Back?
You can leave the Beta Program at any time by disabling the option in the app and installing the latest official firmware version.
Bug Fixes:
• Fixed the issue of filament oozing on the purge tower caused by mismatched retraction and loading lengths when switching between left and right nozzles.
• Fixed the rare HMS error: “System memory insufficient, foreign object detection not working.”
• Fixed the rare false report of print bed offset. Known Issues:
• Filament PTFE tube detachment detection is temporarily unavailable.
That’s it? No new features? We’ve been waiting forever for the nozzle camera access. It was reported early on that a future update would enable it. Or how about the ability to use different nozzle sizes on the H2D on a single print? There is so much potential still locked up in this printer and progress is very slow going.
stupid question: where is the new firmware?
I cannot find it. is not in printer’s firmware menu, is not in handy, is not in firmware downloads url…

Too busy re-hashing/re-releasing their old printers (and a new printer) instead of keeping up with what they promised.
A1s only JUST got the ability to use the AMS 2 even though they kept advertising its support even before it came out.
yes, and I was one of the folks on the team that got root access into the X1C firmware. I was able to download the images like the nozzle lines and chess board from the camera way back in 2023 using an SFTP client. So I knew it was always there, they just hid it from us.
Aye. I don’t think they would ever provide a stream for us for both the birdview and the toolhead camera. Looks like both are designed for capturing photos instead, due the the lack of bandwidth.
Dr. Turbo was already asked about this from Stefan (CNC kitchen) and he confirmed it would be coming in a future firmware update. I didn’t just pull this out of thin air.
It’s true that it’s a shame not to be able to use the camera to fear eyes for the cutting part of stickers I know it is not mandatory but having bought it I would like to be able to use it I am really disappointed
With all the new machines you’re releasing, it was to be expected that firmware development would slow down — the same goes for Bambu Studio, which still doesn’t handle many aspects of the H2D properly. Considering how much the H2D still needs to grow on the firmware side, it would be better to give more attention to the customers who trusted you and spent 2–3K.
Just my opinion and my hopes… we’ll wait, as usual.
This requires support in the slicer. There is no restriction in the printer. Printing with different nozzle sizes is beta in most other slicers, since it is not as simple as a lot of users think.
I had to revise and rethink my post… I remembered my betas with other companies. They also ran the major releases for a while after major version finals, and then kicked up the next cycle. I had forgot that.
But I was hoping(and praying) for more for this series of devices, especially on the software end, as that’s where things are heavily behind… Kind of(to majorly)saddened honestly…
