H2D other Build Plates

Did you’all see that the bambu smooth pei plate became available?..not sure how long because 18 hours after the email and it’s sold out.

By the time I checked email boom, gone

gawd damn it, and I was sleeping like some kind of human creature that needs rest… if I just stopped with that nonsense, I could have caught this.

Still serving up those texture pancakes, I see

The texture helps capture the syrup for a more impactful splash of flavor on the tongue.

The smooth plate would help with air resistance when flinging it through the air though, I imagine.

I’m using the Glacier plate and it’s way better than the OEM PEI plate. I also print in PLA and PETG and have no issue with adhesion and parts are fairly easy to remove when done.

I checked 1h after the email and it was gone!

I don’t want the part to come off the cold plate easy. I want to have to ripp it off. That’s when you know you can print tiny things without any brimm or large flat models without warping.

You’ll still get warping if the chamber is too cold or if the cooling is too high. It’ll just pull the plate up with it lol.

Thanks!
I’m leaning torwards the KDEVI. I think it and the FYSETC have the same value proposition, right? Could you share your experience one vs. the other once you get it?

KDEAVI= super sticky LARGE GRAIN, works well with PETG PLA, not so much with other materials though it could be compatible with ABS/ASA, but you’re on your own risk.

Also there’s no preset available for this plate yet (only Smooth and Textured PEI presets in Bambu Studio) so you need to do some more work with it to utilize its low bed temp benefits.

FSYETC= super-tack alike FINE GRAIN, not as sticky but works well with normal PEI-alike temperatures, but you get a better bottom finish and you don’t need to have glue with most materials. It also works well with Nylon.

You should get both to be honest

The fysetc, or at least the one I received, isn’t anything like the supertack. It’s more along the lines of a satin textured pei plate. Very fine texture, but not sticky or soft at all. It works great and gives an awesome bottom surface finish. I think I actually prefer this plate over the standard textured pei plate.

Finally able to order the smooth plate today. I’m excited.

I wonder whether the new fysetc plate on aliexpress can actually distribute the heat better over the entire bed. The price is definitely interesting.

the heat dissipation doesn’t really matter, it’s merely a 0.4mm steel plate, all the heat still comes from the bed and relies on the bed to dissipate.

Plate arrived. Its nice and sticky but I have not tested it yet as I have a 3.5 day print thats about to finish. Looks and feels very similar to frostbite and generic grey PEZ plates.

Ya I figured it was a Duck from the your name. That my old one, the only photo I had handy, thats from 2001 when it was new. Had a bunch of different ones since then, been eyeing the H2 (not bambu!) for this or next summer. Hows the reliability on that Italian? How many miles you have on it?

I love the bike, it has been super reliable. But the maintenance is crazy expensive. I have about 15k on it. I only ride it in the canyons. If something happens with this bike I’ll probably get a Japanese bike just for the maintenance and ease of working on it. The Yamahas I’ve had in the past have been awesome and easy to work on. The specs on that new H2 are insane.

Yeah I only had Japanese bikes, never Italian as I heard too many horror stories, they are beautiful though. I guess like with women, you want a hot one you have to put up with some annoyances/craziness. :joy:

The only thing that scared me about the H2 is its somewhat porky… 525 pounds, and around 600 for the SX if you want a decent size gas tank, otherwise you stopping at every gas station.
