My feelings about the H2D are mixed… I like it, but for only hobby its a little to big… .
I would love to see the same technology but in a x1/p1 size version…
What are your thoughts?

Dual head eats into the print space.
shure but still… maybe smaller and cheaper and for most use cases more than enough
or a pure laser would be also good for me
Or an A1 Mini size. I would love that for my mom’s classroom.
I mean would be great!! For many little models the mini size is very good!!
I really really think they should do 2 - an X1C sized H2D without the laser, and a larger X1C
I think there is a bigger chance of an H2T 430-450mm with triple nozzles, than a smaller X1 sized version.
Totally agree, people really want a bigger Bambu printer.
It’s not the size that makes the machine expensive, it is all the tech. And if you make a printer smaller but with the same tech it doesn’t get much cheaper. You’d be much better off getting a dedicated laser (you really don’t want a small laser cutter) or even a dedicated plotter. Combining all these features is what makes the h2d so expensive, in any size
But I cant find a good laser and cutter… like to have a digital cutter and a laser… and completely enclosed and save like the H2D…
Do you have any suggestions? For like under 700$
Since Bambu has now shown that they can also build lasers and cutters, I would be interested in buying dedicated ones from Bambu Lab. The ecosystem is just great.
I would also like a >380mm 4Head Printer
So far I’m loving my H2D, the only thing that I wish was different or that could be implemented is a lower power draw. I’m just a hobbyist printing at home and I cant run anything else on the same circuit as the h2d whenever I’m starting a print with PETG or ABS (or any higher bed temp material) because the H2D essentially maxes out my electrical circuit practically by itself. And on top of that, its darn near impossible to find a somewhat affordable UPS battery that can handle the draw incase of power outage. I love that the heat bed and chamber warm up so quickly, but at the same time, I wish there was a slower warmup option that draws less power.
Edit, I forgot to mention, I’m only printing, I didnt get the laser or plotter options
I think they will update the X1 with:
My guess is before the end of this year.
wow thats interesting!!! That is really a bummer for hobbyist printing!
I hope you are right!!! I would probably get it!!
Admittedly, I’m in a tiny home. So this could very well just be a “me” issue, and not necessarily a issue for all hobbyists. Not many circuit breaker lines in a tiny home, lol. With the H2D pulling 1400 ish watts on a 15amp line I have learned that I need to make sure I dont also run the laundry at the same time because its on the same circuit
Not just you. Here in Canada with a tiny 100 yr old home, still relatively upgraded (20yr-ish) but other than the kitchen it’s still all 15A lines.
Starting to eyeball the new Bondtech Voron 0 with toolhead changer for this reason.
I think I’d like to see Bambu focus on more nozzels, perhaps 2 more nozzels back to back with the two they have now on the H2D. Any size printer is fine, just reduce the waste. No need to put effort into the laser stuff.
Probably not, because it reduces the xy motion range greatly and according to the cnc kitchen interview they had to do a lot to make the H2D laser safe. It also doesn’t work well with carbon rods
