I bought my X1C in November 2023, and had only a few small issues,
happy with my printer. but for now, I can’t print any good looking top layers anymore. It looks like the nozzle is scraping the surface.
I’m using the AMS, doesn’t matter which slot I use.
I tried calibrating the machine, that didn’t work.
any suggestions how to fix this:
Re-check the bed leveling to ensure that the distance between the nozzle and the bed is consistent across the entire print surface.
I got this by my own but with a complete new calibration it went away (it takes about 15 minutes).
One of my problems was the temperature of the nozzle with which you are printing. Verify that this is correct and not too high or too low. Maybe you can tell us with how much degrees you are printing right now.
I have the same issue with PETG prints. In my case I had to switch to Orca Slicer an adjust the flow rate of the top and bottom layers. I did the manual calibration and adjusted the flow rate which is spot on now but top layers show severe overextrusion. Therefore I switched to Orca Slicer and reduced the flow accordingly for the top and bottom layers.
You can as well sent me here your settings of your print, i will take a deeper look into that so your top layers are good again
Can you may tell me which vendor you are using for the PLA?
Is it bambus PLA?
Thats nice to hear, now we have to fine adjust these things.
Let me take a look again into your files and i´ll sent you the parts which you can lower or increase.
But i’m wondering now.
For 2 months, I was able to print with default settings, ultra smooth top surface.
When mid print now, I can hear the nozzle scraping over the infill, just like the nozzle is a little too low.
Your settings absolute made an improvement, but isnt it a workaround instead of a fix ? (don’t get me wrong, I’m pretty happy with the improvement!)
