I have a model with a single print profile. That print profile shows 19 downloads, but the model page shows 9 downloads. I’ve noticed the same is true for several of my newer models with only one print profile. How is it possible to download a print profile without it counting as a download of the model?
I’ve noticed my model creation rewards have gone down more than my print profile rewards lately.
Profile downloads count for more points than model downloads and they are two different things. Profile downloads include the model.
In fact, there’s more to it than meets the eye. MakerWorld no longer counts all downloads.
The download numbers should be the same, but they aren’t.
I’ve been looking into this for a while now, but since I haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause yet, I haven’t published anything about it. But it’s a recurring issue throughout MakerWorld.
I haven’t been able to identify a clear pattern yet, but it seems to occur more frequently among users who post in these categories and/or use MakerLab tools. But it happens in other categories as well, though not to such an extreme degree.
You can’t even say that every second download is not counted - it’s been completely random so far.
