I have a great idea. 450x450x450!

Same here. I have a little Canon TS9120 that only prints color well when it’s in the mood. Which never seems to correspond to when I’m in the mood. (Hmm, sound a bit like marriage.) :smirk:

While it is not so easy to make this printer; if there is anyone who can do it, it would be Bambu Labs engineers. A large-format 3D printer with mind-blowing speeds and smart features sounds great!

Agreed. I only recently got into 3d due to the carbon x1.
I put it off for years due to all the fiddling I saw people doing and the wiliness to settle for so so prints. Then there is the time factor. I am past being a pioneer with arrows in my bac,
I often wonder if anyone adds a kilawatt to these things to see what their true electricity usage is.
I race and work with race cars so I understand fiddling. I have no time for that in this case. It is here to make my life a little easier, solve some problems and perhaps show a profit.
Bambu took a lot of the tedious stuff out of the way and I appreciate it.
When the wish time comes I need at least 500 wide in one direction.
Carry on.

And?
Thank goodness there are engineers and designers who think about how things CAN and WILL work.
With all due respect, comments like yours make me think how much further along the human race would be if didn’t have this thinking.
I’m fairly certain THERE WILL be a larger Bambu Labs printer and that their engineers will work out all the “considerations” as needed.

SFAZZINA I’m with you 100% and know that there will be a larger Core XY that’s fast and reliable. That’s INEVITABLE PEOPLE! So to think that Bambu isn’t already working on the XL or whatever it’s called, is illogical. They’ve already shaken up the market and established themselves…so to let someone else steal their momentum just doesn’t make smart sense…and Bambu has proven they have the smarts.

I just don’t understand (after all considered, and YES, the PHYSICS), the naysayer types and think their thinking is flawed. They guy who’s said most people make small toy sized things…what data do you base that on? In my world, there are PLENTY of people who not only want, but need for professional reasons a larger build volume.

Please consider my automobile analogy: Bambu Labs has released a kick-ass roadster that out handles some established sports cars, but it also gets 100 miles per gallon & 1000 miles per charge (work with me here). So MANY people love it, but some people with families or work-needs want a bigger vehicle, perhaps an SUV. Does Bambu say “sorry, we’re only making this roadster. Someone else can knock us off and make the SUV for you.” Of course not. That’s why automobile MFGs have full lines of vehicles to meet different needs. Hell, even Porsche and Lamborghini make SUVs!!!

I have an X1C and love it. I have to order another next month, but if there were a larger Bambu model, I’d order it with confidence (and because I need/want the larger build-volume and would rather get a Bambu machine than have to learn and trust another brand & system).
Cheers.

I mean if we’re making demands…

500C hotend
200C build plate
150C active heated chamber

Enclosed spool holder capable of maintaining 50C while printing.

That’s it. I’m a simple man. Not asking for much.

You would be surprised how few people really want a printer with 450x450. That thing will be HUGE and lots of people will not have the space for it.
Sure there are people wanting it, but most people do not even use 250x250. SUVs are the mass market, at least in the EU. That is why everyone produces them, and thats why most printers are about 200-250 in dimensions. Sure you can produce a monster truck, and there are some available as well, but its not the mass market.

“I have enough HP” said no racer, ever.
FWIW 500mm at least in one axis would be my wish.

Not True. You are way off.
The Neptune 3 Max is sold out constantly…Its Print bed is 420x420x500 mm

Cosplay community LOVE the big printers because you can print full-size helmets and one shot also body armour. Nobody likes glueing sanding PLA.

Agreed but I say take it further and give us an ultra version with 650* 650* 650.

Now make it do color and have lidar lol…

Ok, that is actually really cool.

Now take a zero off that price and I might be interested

With all due respect, I never give any credence to folks who make such statements as “how few people” and “most people” unless they have data to back it up. What is clear is that not everyone wants a larger version (like yourself), and that’s fine. Having another model in their line won’t hurt you or the others who don’t want a larger printer, contrary to some of the posts that express concerns about Bambu not losing focus on current X1C units and customer service issues. That’s about as reasonable as thinking a pizza join can ONLY sell cheese pizza and making another variety would be too much for the restaurant to handle.:man_facepalming:t2:

Anyway, I’ll reiterate that IT WILL HAPPEN. Maybe not 450x450x450, but something around that…and it makes total sense for Bambu to make it.

I like your thinking. :grin::+1:

I work in an office doing clerical work. There are a few 3d printers here, everyone of us wants the Kobra Max, Prusa XL, or some other large format printer.

I know that a small office in Anchorage Alaska isn’t a sample size worth anything, but, and this is the part you are correct about… Where do I put the thing.

Between the X1C’s 4 AMS units, my resin printer, wash/cure stations etc… I’m running out of room and then… The thing is a bed slinger… Personally I am waiting for the Prusa XL to finish with pre orders and I really really want to see the multi tool head version work. Again, I’ve got room for one big printer and I’d like it to be either a multi tool head, or a core XY that I can put the pallet on… Or if the 3d printing gods smill on me, a BL Mega X2C or some such thing…

If they build one, will be the first in line to buy. The small build plate is the only downside to my P1P

Please make a larger format printer. I want an x1c but won’t buy one until a larger build volume is available… Bigger the better, 350 would be minimum, 450 works be sick…take my money.

How much are you willing to spend on a 450mm cube printer?

I have an ultimaker S5 full stack so half as much as that. But I’m confident they could do it for 3k and match the x1e specs.
