I have a great idea. 450x450x450!

I would pay €3000, but without warping (rigid print plate) and a 100% flat bed (max. 0.05mm height failure over all).

I think some people are going to be very surprised at the price tag if and when a large format Bambu Lab printer is released.

What I don’t get is if people want a large format printer so bad and are willing to spend 3k… why not build a Voron that size?

Because you have to build it, tune it, configure slicer etc etc… There is a lot of work involved in this process. It is not only to build. And once you have it, you need to take care of it, including managing own software updates.

When you buy already made printer from company like Bambu, all this is taken care of by Bambu, so you can actually focus on printing actual stuff.

I agree. Based on the x1e price tag though, it would be closer to $3,000-$4,000. The qidi is a much better value. It becomes super obvious who is new, when a thread like this gets active. Just count how many people say a large scale printer is nearly impossible. Then come back here after bambu makes one, and slap these users jn the face with it. Noobs.

Yep, put me in for the first batch of X1 XXLs. BTW, I am really intrigued with Peopoly’s linear motor drive - no pulleys and no belts sounds like a great idea.

Nice advertising.

From the looks of the setup, with this size of print bed you will have even more problems with warping of the prints. The rails are not an innovation; they have been available on other printer systems for a long time. Size isn’t everything. But if you have money, invest in a new printer and if you run into problems, buy another new printer.

Maybe a little. They could still use carbon rods, etc. And use the same size/mass printhead. I just bought an X1C. If they come out with a bigger model, Id probably buy it and have 2!

Bigger than bigger, Many people need it.

Go big or go home! If bambu offered it, would have been the first to order. I love my P1P, but had to resort to getting a kobra 2 max for larger prints.

Will buy if this gonna happen!! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

this has been my only wish for the X1C I have; a larger plate size! Most of the models I have been making lately are just barely able to fit on the current size without having to be cut up.

I agree, mate. Bigger is often better when it’s necessary. It reminds me of a friend in America who drives a large truck. He seems to use it mainly for consuming fuel, but when he says he needs it for hauling things, he certainly has the space and power. I understand that perspective. So, it would be wise for Bambu Lab to release a similar product. They’ve already got their competitors on their toes – why stop now? Competition is beneficial; it prevents companies from becoming complacent.

A larger volume X1C (X2 Carbon?) would be what causes me to buy a second Bambu Lab printer. 500x500x500 would be awesome. Even 350^3 would be great.

guys guys, they’re OBVIOUSLY working on this. Its not like they haven’t thought of it.

Right now though, their priority is most likely tuning up the software with their current line of printers, upping their production capacity, and improving on their customer support.

designing an XL on top of all of this might be more than they can handle at the moment. They most likely have a 3-6 person team doing research with a few prototypes of it right now, but its probably 18+ months away at the earliest

there’s no incentive to rush one out the door imo

edit: and they wouldn’t do 450x450, they’d do 512x512

I remember how hard it was to get a standard ‘text only’ dot matrix printer working on my mates Amiga 500, days of messing around and it never really worked properly. I still remember how amazing it was to hear and see the text get plotted on the paper as the head slowly went left and right. It does kind of remind me of the 3d printers of today.

Yep! They were noisy but no one complained. Most were just thrilled to have a printer.

And pen plotters! Plotting a size D schematic would take forever. And it could only produce a single layer in a single color  And you knew when it was done because the room became quiet.

I would love a large volume printer. I would pay the price if it works, even if its slower. If I run $60 worth of filament i dont mind waiting an extra 6 hours if it works. I view this as a tool. I take pride that Ive never printed a benchy.

I would love to have a larger size bambulab printer and build a printer farm!!! I do a 3D printing business with my friend and we normally print objects a little larger, given the quality of bambulab’s machine, it is gonna help so much to reduce our maintence time and so on! Right now we are having 5 creality cr10s pro, but it cost really so much to upgrade them properly, it would be more efficient to get new printers.

Would buy a bigger X1 direct. Hopefully there are some options soon. Because i can only spend my money once, so i will be waiting before buying a bambu lab printer. I have now a creality…
