I think I'm done with Maker World

This is rediciouls, they removed 4 of my best models from exclusive. If I would have known that 6 or 7 weeks ago I would never joined the exclusive program.

Why did they get removedā€¦??

we are supposed to guess ā€¦ i think its a game

Because they keep changing the rules, and instead of using AI / algorithms to warn you when they change the rules. They rather weaponise them against the people that they were begging to help them just a year ago. I hate everything AI, to me itā€™s just some sh1tty piece of software. Iā€™ve already left and will never be back.

Something something ā€œ2Dā€?

Assuming these were the models.

Just a guess.

You blurred out the t-rex, but by the same logic that is 2D as well.

I have no issue with the 2D rule, even though it might even exclude awesome models like the T-rex. But getting down to -14.000 should be impossible. That implies that points were redeemed without MW checking the models, or am I missing something?

I disagree since the overall shape is 3 Dimensional, even though itā€™s made out of 2d plates.

The trees are just 2D with a stand.

Strangely I would agree as well. But technicallyā€¦

And thatā€™s what makes it still such a grey area

yes that is the reason, but the they didnā€™t only remove the extra points they did remove all points. I never got the chance to get out of the exclusive program. You can write them that you want to exit the program but still get punished.

In the last couple weeks it got punished

  • for making models for free for others and using their print pictures.
  • A Lightbox standing in front the wrong printer
  • Beeing in the exclusive program and they change the rules
  • Someone did a copyright claim against me for a model that looks completely different then his

I did a test. I reported a big designers Models for not having real pictures or using other peoples pictures in their print profile. Guess what the profiles never got taken down. So why punish me and not others?

I would have exited the program but why get pushed over and over again?

I could take all this but today was a bit much. Sorry for the cryingā€¦

You are absolutely right to be upset.

Taking all the points instead of just the extra 25% is most likely so people donā€™t ā€œjust wing itā€. Personally I find removing all points harsh but I would understand giving 75% of the points instead of the 125% (so substracting the ā€˜gainā€™)

  • Why not use your own print pictures?
  • What do you mean with ā€œwrong printerā€?
  • When did you join with these models, when did you first put in a ticket to remove them from the program and when did they actually remove them?
  • You should be able to reinstate this with a ticket

They seem to be a bit subjective indeed with reports, I also tried to report some stolen (remixed) models but it didnā€™t work while other models have been taken down that werenā€™t infringing.

But most importantly, did you actually try to exit the program beforehand?

And donā€™t let it get you down, and be very certain of the projects you put up for exclusivity. I have only one exclusive model right now and I am ok with that.

It was at the beginning, people asked me to do a design and all i asked was a picture as a return. I donā€™t have the time to print all that stuff because I do have many projects going on and I donā€™t have the time to print stuff I did do for others. But that is the past.

Did put the light box on an old printer I hat standing around and took the picture. That is a no go. I donā€™t have the picture anymore because I deleted the modelā€¦ I could find the message

I never thought about leaving because I knew I couldnā€™t get out till I read in the Forum that you could put in a ticket. That was about 2 weeks ago.

you got punished for not uploading images for you print profiles, from your printed models (Required by guidelines).

What rules changed that made you get punished?

total BS + have to type this amount

This guys had a rough go of itā€¦

Hmmm, interesting. The new guidelines state they wonā€™t be taking effect till Jan 1st. So was it a violation of the existing ones and they finally caught up or are the new ones being enforced early?

Agreed. It seems MW wields its new rule changes to claw back rewards, like swinging a hammer. Right now itā€™s the 2D rule, tomorrow itā€™ll be something else. All I can do is watch events unfold and diversify which sites Iā€™m active on.

If that was the case, then our AI friends would be bankrupt by now and would owe money to makerworld.
I think this was a case where someone reported it.

And your most popular model has a buymeacoffee link. How would you feel if this modelā€™s earned points were stripped to zero because of the new advertising rule?

Which smiley face response does this deserve? ? :smile_cat: ? :joy:

Sureā€¦ Buy me a a coffee. You have until January to worry about it  (that was my ā€œsmiley faceā€ response btw). Have fun

But hey, want to see more? I can tell you right away hundreds of profiles that have way worse than a ā€œshow your supportā€ link and they are not being enforced.

i said once and will say again, rules are for everyone

Also, since you think that rules are to be circunvented and not for all and since you mentioned me, your most downloaded model has more affiliate links together than most of any ones i have seen.

They all redirect to ā€œjjtech0a6-20ā€. Just to check on realityā€¦ you knowā€¦ right? Wink Wink

Do we really think ā€œBuy me a Coffeeā€ qualifies as advertising?

Shoving it down peopleā€™s throats in the Community tab is one thing, placing it on the description of a model is entirely different and not offensive in my opinion.

If true, would Patreon be excluded, even if for commercial licenses?

I do hope not as it may make MW untenable for many.
