thanks everyone for your responses, im just gonna hope that mine dosnt arrive damage.
For bambu I dont rely on their support for timely repairs, I try to keep most common parts on hand for any equipment I run. On my X1 I had a TH board failure, but I was running dual heaters for a while for my HF hot end. I also had the toolhead USB cable fail from flexing after 5000 hours and a few other smaller things. AMS funnels were also a good spare part to have for the original AMS as they wear out with CF filament. But as I mentioned I had all of those parts, and Bambu stuff is relatively cheap it was not a big deal. Support still sent me replacement parts after I fixed it myself, but having them on hand made getting back to printing much easier.
I was initially happy with my results for small parts such as the built-in Benchy (it wasnāt great, but I put that down to the fact that it is tuned for speed). Iām running test prints now using Bambu PLA Basic at default parameters and Iām no longer happy with the output quality. Iām seeing very pronounced z-banding on simple parts. This is with the latest Beta firmware and subsequent full recalibration. Iām not confident this machine will satisfy me long-term unless some sort of breakthrough occurs. My brotherās X1C produces much better-looking prints.
My two cents: My first 3D printer ever was a Raise3D E2 and that set the benchmark in quality for me. Speed on the other side was very limited. Iāve had several other printers since then and Iāve owned an X1C from the start and added an A1 and A1 Mini afterwards.
I found the all three bambu printers outclassed the Raise3D in both quality and speed and specifically with the X1C have been extremely impressed (except for a weird issue with a sensor that was fixed with a bit of tape )
So when I pressed the buy button for the H2D and most of its accessoires (HF hotends, vision plates etc) I thought I wasted over 2000 euros on a bigger machines which wastes a little bit less poop, a heated chamber and an upgraded AMS.
But I have adjusted my opinion since then. The entire ecosystem has improved since I bought the H2D and without exception my prints have been coming out the machine flawlessly, but to such a standard that it far outshines the X1C.
Since my wife (who is not a techie at all) has found printing stuff so easy and good she claimed a lot of time on the H2D. So much so and so much so impressed I decided to buy a second H2D.
I performs equally as impressive as the first one. I litterly think this is the best printer that is relatively affordable on the market now. My big beef with is are some of the akwardnesses (which I can live with) and still the rather steep price.
I just looked at two Benchys that came out of my brotherās X1C and thereās no comparison. If the H2D is capable of that kind of print quality, I havenāt seen it. Itās no contestānot even close. Not with Bambu PLA basic using default profiles, anyhow.
