Issue with A1 x-axis tension warning?

Hello all! I just got my A1 and have done a few prints already. I noticed an error on the screen just now:

“the resonance frequency of the X axis is low. The timing belt may be loose.”
0300-1000-0002-0001 [160214]

Should I be having this issue already with a brand new printer? Critical issue? I have a print running right now. Has anyone done the procedure to fix it? The QR code took me here:

The instructions look rather old. The lower half seems to be for my printer (A1). Based upon the picture in that link, would I be correct in saying I just need to adjust that little screw on the backside of the tool head? There are little screws all around the tool head on all sides. Looks like a total of six screws altogether.

This one here on the side looks like it’s stuck out quite a ways. Related or is this normal?

I wouldn’t get too wound up. Belts tend to stretch after initial use. Adjust the belts to proper tension and you should be good for some time

I got the same message after a day or so of printing. Did the steps and no issues since.

So what are the exact steps? I took a look at Bambu’s wiki article:

It only says this:

“Use an H2 Hex key to loosen the screw on the back of the toolhead (as shown below), and tighten it again. Then perform the printer calibration again, and the error should disappear.”

Then I found this one that seems to have more detail (but basically same steps):

The section called “X axis Belt Tensioning” seems to be the one that is relevant to me. Would I just follow those steps? Seems the only tension screw I need to worry about is on the back of the tool head, right?

Just want to make sure I’m doing this right since it will be my first time dealing with this. Thanks!

Yes. Loosen that screw one turn and no more than that. Move the hot end as described back and forth 3 times and re-tighten the screw. Then be sure to re-calibrate the printer. It has an auto tensioner in there so when you loosen the screw the mechanism inside has a spring to pull the belt tight.

i recomend to scew that scew

Thanks. I did all of those steps and it cleared the alert for a few days and then it started showing up again today. Any idea why this might keep happening?

I have the same issue, after fix, again and again

Hey guys, same issue here with my A1. It’s less than 10 hours old and keeps showing this issue. I’ve followed the tension procedure and recalibrated multiple times and still no luck! The prints are coming out fine so I don’t know if this is a software issue?

I have the same problem with my A1 combo. Although when I calibrate the machine no incident appears. Only when I start some impressions.
Yesterday it appeared, I calibrated it and it disappeared during two new prints. The incident returned this morning with a new impression

Same problem here! I have the A1 and i did fixes and calubration but the error still came out

Same problem for me with A1 + AMS

Same issue here , had this error out of the box. Prints seem to be fine so far. Tried the suggested fixes, error still popping up.

Sounds like this is fairly common. I’ve had this happen on both of my A1s. I basically followed these directions:

The first time, I don’t think I loosened or re-tightened the screw a full turn. I was being too cautious and only did a half turn. Then the issue reappeared. After doing it properly, I haven’t seen this issue reappear. And with my second A1, I only had to do it once so far. With other folks that have had this issue, it doesn’t seem to affect print quality - at least in the short term.

I have the same problem with my A1, except it seems to come out after every print. So it’s print then error then re-tension then repeat.

Upgrade here: I figued out that the problem was the ams mounted on the top of the A1: too many vibrations.

I was finally able to solve it following Bambu Lab’s instructions. Tense the x-axis belt following the forum. The error has not appeared again.

I have had my A1 for about a month now and enjoying it. About 15 days ago I would periodically get an X-Axis error as indicated in this thread. I completely understand that belts stretch, especially shortly after putting them into service. I have not retensioned the belt but what I do is to let the print finish as this alert does not stop the printing process, and after the print is completed, I cycle power and the next print does not have that error. This happened with the AMS mounted on it’s own stand and on top of the A1. My desk is not the sturdiest either during the “vibrate the hell out of my desk” portion of the test, which may contribute to the issue. I will try out the tension procedure to see if the problem goes away, but I don’t print much yet on this printer so it could take time to verify it is fixed. It’s just a curious hobby for me.

Thanks for this thread, very informative and helpful to me.

Any idea if this would cause me to have mismatched layers on my prints?
