Very cool.
I’m pretty jealous of p1p users that they get this opportunity to customize their device.
Theoretically it retains chamber temp better than the X1C’s metal enclosure due to conductivity? Potential added bonus.
i assume you always can put some reflectiv aluminium insulation on the inside of your X1 to be more energy efficient
would be nice if someone actually would test, if the P1P or the X1 is more energy efficient - since the X1 prints on a Cool Plate and the P1P on the PEI-Sheet by default, the energy required to heat up the bed is worse on the P1P
That’s true. This is part of the reason I continue to use Cool plates when I can (not to mention the time saved by not having to bring the bed to temp).
I put some thermal barrier on the inside of one side of a single x1c unit, but I was too lazy to do the other sides because the electronics make it more complex
It was just something I picked up from Daiso (dollar store) that is meant to lay on top of your bathwater to keep it warm. Sort of like this;
does not have transparent side panels. Would it make sense to use
printables 381777-bambu-lab-p1p-minimal-enclosure-x1-door
as the starting point for a “Most Minimalist Enclosure” that uses most part from the upgrade kit but replaces the left/right plastic panels with FRONT|REAR_LEFT|RIGHT_top|bottom parts from your set? REAR would have to be clipped (if not redone) but FRONT should work as-is?
Very Nice. I printed my first shell from the default wrap on the P1P 3d model from the wiki. Just for temporary until I decide what colors to use for the “real” one.
Since you are enclosing, what filament did you use? ABS I assume?
