As the title states, I’ve just installed the external rear exhaust fan (with filter) and new rear panel. To help reduce fumes and VOC’s wouldn’t it be best to now seal off the old perforated section next to the poop chute? Or would this cause some sort of issue that I’m not aware of? Cheers
if you are not going to print any cooler filaments I would say yes: The exhaust will suck cold air into the printer (by creating negative pressure), and ideally that should happen as slowly as possible: just enough for toxic gas not to exit the enclosure from gaps. To avoid warping the enclose has to be heated evenly, hence the less cold air in the better.
You could also consider sealing the edge of the top door as warm air move upward..

So, how’s the exhaust kit working out for you?
The installation and operation of the fan can’t be faulted, however I haven’t been able to successfully purchase the filter (so far I’ve had two AliExpress orders cancelled for no reason) and am awaiting either the Bambu Store in Australia to start stocking the filter or find one elsewhere.

I did see that model being offered, however I’ve since found a vendor on AliExpress that had them available and it is currently in transit.
I already had the activated carbon so for me it was a no brainer to print the whole thing
BTW the perforated section next to the poop chute is to cool a motherboard, I believe, so best not to cover it. Last thing you want to do is overheat that!!!

You can cover it without any problem. That plate is directly connected to the inner zone in the area of the rear threaded rod, and it will be at the same temperature as the printer. If you also place the extractor fan over it (that’s how I have it set up), as Bambu Lab recommends on its Wiki, you’ll improve its cooling.
