I set the printer to work through lan only mode.
It sometimes works, but most of the time it just bugs out.
When I go to do a print, it says “Synchronizing device information” and usually takes a long time.
Then it says Connect failed

If I select my printer again, it asks me to put the access code again every fucking time.
Which is incredibly annoying.
So for every print, I have to walk over and read and type a long digit password that keeps changing.
Its really not that hard to make a wireless connection.
It feels like lan mode is intentionally shitty so that you’re forced to upload all your prints to your big brother server for snooping.
Plus the fact that you’re forced to use the bug riddled “studio” software instead of cura like every other printer. Means you not even able to change the mouse binds or just switch over to octoprint.
It is exactly that and it is still not fixed. Thanks Bambu Lab.
Also thanks for not being able to save more than one network and having to enter the Passwords again and again on the A1 mini.
Time to buy one of those wifi sd cards in combination with a sd to micro sd adapter for privacy.
Same here. Not a single print went through without fighting connection issue. Thinking about returning A1. X1C was kind of easier to establish pretty strong connection. Same ethernet/LAN/whatever…
FWIW I just switched my A1 Mini to LAN-only mode, and had absolutely no luck connecting Bambu Studio (v1.10.1.50) to it. OrcaSlicer connected to it without issue.
I wish these overcomplicated things had a LAN-only no-additional-security mode, or maybe just the option of a simple password. My home is not a military installation, and my network’s WPA2 encryption plus the proximity required to connect to it is already plenty –unless someone is really extra-determined to sneak an extra benchy into my office.
