Layer Height Limit

Is there a way to over ride the 0.6mm layer height limit?

I got a 1mm nozzle and wanted to set the layer height to 0.75, but it won’t let me. First it told me it exceeded the max layer height setting in the extruder settings, so I went and changed that to 1.0, but it still won’t let me go above 0.6mm no matter what I do, is this just a global hard limit we can’t change?

Where did you get the 1.0mm nozzle?

BL only sells 0.2mm, 0.4mm, 0.6mm & 0.8mm nozzles.

I bought the replacement nozzle set that lets you use “normal” nozzles, and I bought 0.1/0.2/0.4/0.6/0.8/1.0 mm CHT style nozzles with it, I’ve used the 2/4/6/8 with great results and flow, and wanted to try the 1.0 at more than 0.6 to see what it looked like but apparently can’t.

I don’t know what these are, are they official?

If they are not official, then that is likely why, BL don’t guarantee something they didn’t make will work.

They are definitely not official. I saw a youtube video about them so tried them out and they work well. I did chamfer the three holes in the copper insert to come to a sharp point like the real CHT but otherwise that’s it, just installed it like a normal hot end change and did flow tests/adjustments.

That will be the reason.

Bambu Lab doesn’t sell them or any 1.0mm hot end so they have not tested them or would even consider supporting them.

Because of this, the Bambu Studio doesn’t have any support for them as the geometry changes required to support different mozzle sizes make the slicing process more complicated than simply adding the option.

I think you are out of luck. At least until they release their 1mm nozzle and the Bambu Studio software has been thoroughly tested.

Weird. You could try on Orca to see if it’s working

There was a discussion on custom hot ends not too long ago, but I can’t find it. If I recall correctly, you have to add/setup a new printer–You can’t change the BL presets. But don’t hold me to it.

Its def not an issue with custom hot ends because that issue still exists when you get a .8mm official Nozzle. It still has a cap at .56, not .8 and not 1mm which is what I want to do.
