I’m getting a layer shift after the first layer on all my prints.
First print was the benchy from the Bambu folder on the printer and it looked great but had what looked like a brim on half of the print. When i looked at the bottom that when I noticed the second layer shifted.
I re-calibrated and tried again with the same results.
I loaded up my own project in the slicer and same thing happened.
I have even removed the Bambu from the table I had it on n put it on a more sturdy surface, re-calibrated and still have the same result.
I did search on here and the net and haven’t seen anyone with this issue or a fix.
The layer shift after the first layer is from the “First Layer Inspection”.
I was able to verify this by printing the pre-loaded Benchy with and without the “First Layer Inspection”.
Turned off it comes out perfect. Turned on layer shift that is forward and to the right.
I never turned it off when I got the Bambu Textured PEI Sheet, I read it doesn’t always work with the Bambu Textured PEI Sheet.
So I was able to get a few single color prints done.
Now the issue is a layer shift with a color change or manually replacing an empty spool of filament.
My support ticket is a week old with no response so far.
Here is the layer shift with a color change.
It does it on the purge block and the print.
Yes. The bearings on the left side was not all the way seated. I was looking for something in the front of the nachine for the longest.
Bambu Support was writing a lengthy repair that removes the side of the machine. But then told me to just press it in holding on to the back of the case and the bearing holder.
This first thing Bambu support had me do was check if the cable chain and the ptfe tube was causing the hot end from going all the way to the front right of the machine.
That was the issue here! Thanks for letting us know!
Attached two images as it was PRIOR printing and WHILE printing. The PTFE tube was squeezed between hotend and stepper motor. So the hotted could not go back to its initial position… it “stopped” exactly the distance of the PTFE tube
Something we need to fix here. As a short fix I tightened the clips and moved them so that the power cord to the extruder is “lifting” the PTFE tube at the end.
Long term solution is only a printed cable chain I guess (or buy it from Bambu Store)
Hello everyone… I come from PRUSA where I manage the first layers perfectly… but there… I have a problem with the Bambulab… Where do I have to solve this problem?.. Thank you… .
I would suggest you re-post this a a new issue. There’s a few reasons it’s good to start a new post for each new issue you have.
Some people (not I) dislike people who bring up old (‘necro’) posts unless solving it. Adding your issue often isn’t relevant.
Secondly, many of the main users on here only look at new posts, ignoring posts they’ve seen or perhaps answered. A new post by you will get hundreds of more “eyeballs” on it!
So go post this gain as new, you’ll get lots of help, K?
Good morning,
In general, we get licked when someone creates a new topic that another post already talks about, but that suits me perfectly… so I’m going to create a new topic… Thank you for taking the time to answer me at length… .(google translate)
Hi, I have the same issue, but different cause. I searched around, and the TL;DR is that something is blocking the extruder head.
In OP photos it was the bearings. In other people it’s the PTFE tube if it’s not held by the cable chain. And another cause can be the filament cutter.
In my case it was the cutter jammed by the cable that connects to the extruder faceplate. The faceplate has a clip, and the cable wasn’t clipped in there.
I had the same problems with first and second layer shift on my bamboo p1s… using bamboo lab slicer… I tried everything… check the belts… check the bearings… turn on auto recover from step lost…
I still can’t find the first layer step inspection enable or disable… looked all over the place can’t find the button for the box to check …if somebody has a picture of exactly where it is id really appreciate it …of where exactly to find that damn thing
but oh well… I seem to have got the problem sorted out anyway
I changed to orca slicer!.. downloaded it from GitHub and sent a test print through and it works like a champ … then I sent in a more complex one that previously had crappd out with the layer shift… and it worked perfectly!
If you’re not already using Orca slicer I highly recommend it! …
Orca slicer also displays jerk settings… bamboo lab does not… I didn’t actually need to use them but I had been reading on the forums that they would have been another option to try…
I started getting theses results of first layer for the past few days. Sent files to another A1C and printed fine. I just turned off the 1st layer inspection and running test block to see if that does work. Tried update, celibate, and turned the unit off for a while and same results. Any help on this one.
