Can anyone assist me on where these tow screws fit on my A1. I was able to research that the red loctite is only used in areas where things are more structural and/or not meant to open. It is also not use in hot areas. I found one screw on top of the bed of my printer and the second one on the shelf beside it. So I’m not sure if it came from this printer or the one beside it. But I have looked all over both printers and have not found any missing screws. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
With the help of the two guides you should be able to figure it out:
Step one: You’ve already figured this out from the red Loctite: Lead-screw nut fastening, motion frame, and other critical structural components
Step Two: The guide specifically for the A1
If the screw isn’t in the second guide - which, in theory, is possible - then we’d have to check again. But maybe the first guide will already be helpful to you.

I am writing this on a tiny screen, looking at tiny photo, so it is hard to see, but if it helps those are likely M3x6 “machine screws” (3mm diameter, 6mm shalf excluding head) but you have a caliper there and can measure the shaft. I do not think they are ST as the end of the head is not pointed enough and the thread looks like an M3 coarse thread. But, again, small screen right now.
The guides you were linked have the screw sizes for the parts, so you should be to figure it out from there. (The presence of washers helps too)
Also how do red threadlocked screws “just fall out”? Do you remember disassembling something, and if so, they probably come from there. ![]()
Thank you for the guides. I didn’t find the screw location, but these will be very helpful in the future.
