When the Ams is retracting the first slot it makes a loud grinding noise.
when I pull a bit on the first stage feeder so the gears losen up a bit its gone.
it comes from the black roller where its connected with a gear to the yellow gear.
Did you get this worked out? Mine is doing it now.
Also have this, is there any info or how to fix it?
I also have this on the 2nd slot, loading works but retracting gives the grinding noise.
I submitted a ticket but it can take a while before there is a response I believe
hey, are there any news about this problem. I also have this on Slot 1 now…
Does anyone have an answer to this or are you all gatekeeping lol.
Hi all!
Now, after setting up my first 3D printer, the P1S - AMS combo, I also had the problem of grinding/loud noise in the 3rd slot right from the start when the system was retracting (not feeding) the filament. First I thought it had something to do with the filament I had placed as a refill, but also all the ready-made factory filament spools I tested in the 3rd slot resulted in the same noise.
But when disassembling the slot part I noticed that the left side of the metal front roller of the 3rd slot (the one with the bearing) was not pushed into place properly, and so there was not a proper contact between the yellow gear wheels, resulting in this scratching or grinding.
So, the problem can be solved by just checking that all the rollers are in place. You do not have to disassamble anything.
Hope this helps!
Happy printing!
