Will there be a separate maker community like makerworld for laser, cutting, plotting models similar to makerworld ?
Will makerworld support sharing of these kind of projects?
Or are all on our own and dependent of other sources of sharing models for these projects ?
One of my only reasons going for the whole bundle was due to Bambu Labs great success with makerworld. I really hope to see something similar with these other project types.
There will be a 2D models section on MakerWorld where one can upload .svg/.ai/etc files just like you would with a .stl or a .lac file from BambuSuite just like you would with a .3mf. There will also be an option to add step-by-step tutorials for more craft-oriented projects. There are going to be categories for things like test files, and ways to sort by material/product. E.g. ones for sublimation t-shirts, sublimation tumblers, leather/vinyl/paper/plastic/etc.
I’m imagining a Laserbox MakerLab tool as well to create stunning Laserboxes with images, text and more
I feel like it’s kinda obvious, but there will be 2D model contests as well. (Contest for original models in .LAC or .SVG format and printable on a laser cutting printer.)
Hoping they won’t tolerate
Uploading models with existing images, pictures, patterns or texts, or structures that are copied, not original, not authorized, etc.
Uploading models with identical, similar, or a series of images, pictures, patterns, texts, or structures but different process type or material.
Uploading models with images, pictures, patterns or texts, or structures same as existing original 3D models from other creators.
It’s a top nav menu, as noted in the screenshots. They added it in the last few hours, not sure why they waited as it was only one feature flag. Not that I would know that
He shows it being cut using clear acrylic… which the blue light laser of the H2D can’t cut. You need CO2 or fiber for that. Yes I know you can just use an opaque sheet but I feel like this user just copy/pasted this project from somewhere else.
