MakerWorld is now Multilingual!

Hi MakerWorld Community,

Get ready for an exciting new update to MakerWorld! Multilingual Auto Translation, enabling seamless communication among users from all over the world. Let’s explore the new features together!

  • MakerWorld is now available in English、中文(简体)、Deutsch、Français、Italiano、and Español.
  • After switching to selected language and clicking on a model to enter its model page, users will find that all related information has been translated into preferred language. Besides, users can still view the original content if needed when checking print or model description.
  • When leaving comments, users can also switch to selected language to view the translated content. If others leave comments in different languages, users can directly view the translated version or check the original content.

Click on the following GIF to see how this feature operates!

We look forward to your feedback!

That’s awesome! Thank you

This is cool, but for the model description I, as designer, would be able to post my own translations. Do you think you can add also this feature?

So basically if a “designer translation” is available you show that, otherwise you automatically translate it (leaving the show original link).

Some of the translations are incorrect.

Absolutely! And it would be great to be able to add manual translations for the model title and tags (and thumbnail if it’s doable).

I checked the french version. And overall it’s pretty good. There are still some content not translated on the contest pages. And the user descriptions aren’t translated.

There should be some way for multilingual users to disable it.

Is there a timeframe for this being integrated into Bambu Handy?

Yeah, I am looking for disabled too. Italian translations are like Spaghetti language. :joy:

Yes, this was much needed. It needs to be extended to the 3mf file name, especially when in Chinese characters. I download and store files on my PC, and have to immediately change them before I forget what they represent.

Is there a way to disable the translation. Especially for the model name some translated names are very strange if translated to german. For chinese , asian or arabic languages I would prefer the translation. but not for english. Would be nice if the feature could be controlled by language or at least to select one/some not to translate. Not just on/off like it is now.

Not working!
I understand that someone might enjoy this, but I really want the original, mainly english, language. In all the site!

Go to your account setting, preferences page and disable “Auto Translation”

That worked for me to have the auto-translate off.

Done, but useless.
The problem is that, even with different browser and incognito mode, I go to /en and became /it. The whole site is translated, but with a spaghetti italian impossibile to withstand.

Does selecting English in the bottom toolbar helps?

OWWW!
I’m stupid!
Don’t even noticed that. Yes, this is perfect.
And, of course, I’ve googled before writing here, not even a mention on this setting.
Thanks man!

I noticed this as well. Disabling the auto-translation did work for me for a while, but just a few days ago it stopped working. It constantly auto-translates the title, print profile names, description, and comments on the model page. In some areas (e.g. home page header part above the category pill tags) it does however work correctly. I’ve noticed some recent site updates too, it might be a newly introduced bug.

My bearing fidget spinner got translated into 陀螺, which translated back is “top”.
Now I’m getting zero prints from makerworld China.
