Business is booming just as the other hundreds of others doing the same lol. I don’t print to sell eCommerce though which is 95% of that market.
Thanks for the positivity though, true leader

Hey guys at @MakerWorld
Of course we earned more points before (in my case I am now earning half, more or less) and almost all I earned in the last 24 hours was from boosts. kind of weird actually as I was earning something like 500 points a day from my models and print profiles and now almost zero…
Anyway…the question is " why don’t you put a way to say thank you to the people that send the boosts…like a box with an emoji or a reply?", as I am entering in their profile and thanking them in private with a text, but should be nice to implement another way.
@MakerWorld, Wouldn’t this make it very difficult or impossible to stop bot downloads, horse-trade downloads, and self-downloads (uploaders download their own models/print profiles)?
Cults is not sketchy. It holds the money for a certain period of time in case the buyer wants a refund, which I think is reasonable.
Having said that, I thing there is an opportunity for BBL to enter the paid model market because MW’s one-step printing. Cults doesn’t have this convenience factor. Printables $5 minimun is making it hard to sell models there.
But I got to give Printables the nod for priming the wider users to the concept of paying for good models. Eventually more and more will accept the fact that good models take lots of time and skills to create and the designers deserve compensation for their hard work.
I’m all for incentivizing model quality over popularity, but surely there is a better way to go about it than this overly-complex system that has an entire “rules” page. If your rewards system needs “rules”, it’s too complex. I’ve read the “rules” a few times now and I still don’t know how the hell it works and that’s only going to lead people to not even bother doing it. Also, I have to use them or else they expire? There have been many models I’ve enjoyed making from the site, but I’m not going to come back each week to make sure I boost them.
Not to mention, you didn’t even limit the use of boost on popular models. So lots of people are just boosting popular models and the purpose of “incentivizing quality over popularity” still hasn’t been addressed.
Seems like there could be much simpler ways to incentivize model quality that isn’t complicated with boost, boost tokens, expiration dates, and silly weekly recharges. I mean, there is already an entire model rating system. Why not just leverage that better?
Personaly I find the update terrible , I too seam to have gone from couple hundred of points a day to almost nothing , something is not right, Maker world is not counting uploads or showing them , its impossible that I have no downloads with 800 followers …
Seems odd that there has been a lot of new reviews on my models yet the download ticker hasn’t seemed to move. These are 4 and 5 star ratings so they had to print it. Its possible some have waited a while to rate but not this many.
Seems like the algorithm to catch the scammers is filtering everything. Would be nice if @MakerWorld would respond and let us know if this is the new normal or if a patch can be expected.
I for one do not like all the current changes.
As someone with poor vision I need things like highlighting to actually highlight, the current iteration is so poorly highlighting a profile that I find it hard to see any actual change.
This will also affect some others with Dyslexia etc.
Also the download, so we have to click an extra time in order to select which we want to download, why not simply make downloading a .3mf the default again THEN have the option to click and change it to the.stl etc.
My favourite part of the update is the “Check Status” button for gift cards. I had never considered that there would be anything remaining on my cards as I don’t recall seeing any remaining-balance type statement after using them.
Thier solution to that is simple. DL without logging just don’t count
Yes, this seems to be the case now. I suggested in another thread that MW postpone the implementation of this new feature.
At this time of major reward system change, this no-login download feature adds a big layer of complexity. It makes harder or even impossible to accurately analyze the effect of the new reward system. When an change is observed, MW cannot know for sure how much the no-login download plays a part in the result, or maybe the new result is entirely due to the no-login download.
There is a good reason that when debugging or testing, one changes only one thing at a time.
Yeah it sure makes things hard to analyse.
Besides that what’s bother me a lot, it’s they are now messing with the different counters by adding a lot of conditions.
And I guess they doing that to reduce the points earned. If that so that the worst implementation ever.
Just give us less points and don’t skew the data. The most important reward is still to know that our models are downloaded! The points are an extra.
I think its better to be able for downloasders to donate $ in form of points/boosts. I agree that they should be compensated, but having a paywall infront of all files undos everything the Bambu, and community has done
