Manual z-axis to adjust offset squish visible layer lines

Hi guys

I’m still struggling with getting that first perfect smooth bottom layer - this is important for aesthetic purposes.

Basically - layer lines are visible on the bottom layer surface in random places.

In this case textured sheet is not the answer. (even with certain textured sheets - sometimes the lines still occur)

When I paint these surfaces the gaps are more pronounced - see pic.

I’ve tried adjusting flow settings, heat settings on both bed and nozzle - different filaments etc - speeds, line widths -

In short all I want to do is squish my z a bit more and I think my problem will be solved. I’m sure the automatic z calibration is just a tad off.

Bambu Labs refuses to make this an adjustment that can be set in the settings or on the hardware menu , so I assume I need to adjust the starting gcode.

If this is the case and I am using an engineering plate (I like the subtle texture it leaves)

what settings would I need to add , at what increments and where do i add them exactly?

I don’t want to mess anything up on my other models - just need the setting for this model.

Appreciate your help - I’ve been troubleshooting this for some time and I’m at my wits ends.

As you see in the pic - I want the entire bottom layer uniformed.

Thanks.

I found this video - which looks promising

Hi maybe you printbed isnt flat enough check it with a ruler i had the same problem with my P1S i changed the heatbed now i have a nice first layer on every textured sheets but it does not work on the smooth one

Hi Alex - thanks for your reply. I definitely will check that out. You know, I had suspected that the issue is with the “flatness” or default leveling of heat bed - because BEFORE this - I have had mixed results and the layer lines would show up in various locations of the models as I would print multiples on the same bed. Certain prints would be fine and others had layer lines - some more pronounced than other. I have (3) X1C units and this problem occurs on each one. I wonder if I was to adjust those 3 knobs under the bed without messing anything up - that would also fix the issue??
