Missing Brim even though it is turned on?

Has anyone run into an issue where the brim is missing? I have set it to a 30 mm brim. I tried auto, outside and outside and inside but it won’t generate.

Don’t get a brim and the BRIM option is not showing up on the LINE TYPE list. (Win11 and BS 2.0.3.54) :v: :cowboy_hat_face:

I think I see a raft? That takes precedence over a brim.

With this model, between the raft and all the other joined support bases, I don’t see a need for a brim.

Nope. Raft Layers is set to zero and it does need a brim. These models are rings that have almost no contact with the build plate. Right now even with the tree supports when printed with 0.08 layer height they tend to get knocked off the plate by the print head and create a stringy mess. I’ve tried increasing the bed temp for the first layer which helps but doesn’t solve the problem. In previous versions wasn’t it possible to get rafts and brims together?
Thanks for looking into this. :v: :cowboy_hat_face: Have a great day!

It get’s interesting. If the support threshold angle is 14 it gets a brim. If the support threshold angle is 15 then no brim.

I had the same issue, and was quite frustrated as I decided to comb through everything, and in the process → objects tab, then click on each part separately both had locked brim types as painted or no brim, which was causing my problems, I clicked on the lock and removed it so that the global settings would take precedence and that worked. I don’t know if that will solve your problems, but it fixed mine.

i have the same issue, but none of the same solutions. changing support angle isn’t putting the brims back on, and the objects are not locked to have no brim

If supports completely encircle your object all the way up to the edge, it might not get a brim as the solver cannot find a place to put it. If you want your support structures to have a wider “brim” that is the setting named: “Support First Layer Expansion”

This was my issue also, Thank you so much, I thought I was going crazy.

Omg thank you so much! Fixed it.

I cannot find the setting to remove rafts so supports get a brim, and I cannot find a setting called Support Layer Expansion either, did these get removed, is there a program setting I need to enable to find these? My objects get a brim which I can set to 40mm+ to encompass them and practically fill my base plate, but thats the only solution I have found, yet other projects I have imported from cults3d had brims on the supports

Thanks for this! This was what happened in my case. I happened to mess with one of the objects with painted brims. Forgot to change it back when i decided to have full brim for all in the Global.
