Multi plate automation for A1 mini

It will be a mix of both. But it will allow printing all plates of a single project or combine multiple projects into one queue. It will work with 3mf files (not just gcodes) .

@dill It’s great to have a potential vendor so actively involved on the forum. Very refreshing!

Thanks. I hope it wasn’t meant ironically. Indeed I have understanding for both sights, though. Forum is not a marketplace. It was a spontaneous decision, to be honest. When starting selling a niche equipment for a niche product it can be very hard at the beginning, especially for a one man show developer. Hope folks here will have an understanding why I decided to meat you here instead of paying for expensive adds (making the later price of the device unnecessary high) and spam you in your social media feeds. This path to later customers seemed to me more organic and allow a dialogue.

I see nothing wrong with it. Spaghetti Detective did the same thing on the Prusa forum back in the day when they were first developing their software, long before anyone else had that feature or even the idea that it might be possible. They even recruited beta testers that way.

Brilliant idea, but I need for A1. Any idea how to contact the other team to see where their progress is at? Do they have a site like this?

for A1 (not A1 Mini !) please see here :point_right: Multi plate automation for A1 mini - #42 by Dill

New video is published. See initial post.

Thanks for the tag!
Looking good on the changeout of plates, such a simple solution. How does the printer re-start once the new plate is on (what is the signal back to bambu studio)?

There is a queue generator software between BambuStudio/OrcaSlicer and the Printer. The software runs locally (no cloud) and needs to be used only once before the printer starts the queue (so the computer doesn’t need to stay on).

Now if only the printer manufacturers change the permanent magnet beds with electromagnets, that will simplify the whole plate change system.
Another idea for another kit to modify printers.

I can’t wait to try this! The progress is looking really good :+1:

At least we will know where all our cutlery went if you jacked up the power!

Combined with induction it could possibly make sense. Magnet and heater at the same time.

I just saw it on Reddit. Excellent work! It looks awesome :star_struck:

@Dill are you still on the track for a release mid July?
You said that there is a hardware kit some printed parts. Are those special hardware parts or just some screws and so on.
Maybe there might be a only BOM and code version, to save on shipping costs if those are just standard hardware parts

The kit will contain printed parts (not available for download) equipped with springs, magnets, screws, metal parts and other stuff. There will be no official BOM. You purchase the compact kit which can be shipped almost worldwide at low price and print the rest yourself. I’m not sure about July. There will be a 30 days Crowdfunding campaign. I’m currently run the preproduction and source parts.

If you would be kind enough, give us a one day notice when you are ready to launch, followed with the launch url the day after.

This way we can get in at the start.

You have been teasing us after all, we deserve to be there on day one with a little notice.

It is your launch, you don’t have to give us any key info before (although it would be appreciated), the heads up is a must in my opinion.

Sure, I will publish the launch date few days before, maybe a week.

Looking forward to it! I’ll be happy to order on release day!

Hey Dill, that automation-concept looks awesome!!

It seems to work flawless over hundreds of plates, so kudos to you - repeatability is the most difficult part when it comes to secure automation.

With best regards,
