My print profile is only compatible with A1. Bug?

I think this may have something to do with “Print By Object.”

Here’s the model in question. I’ve checked all compatibility boxes except A1 mini, however, the print profile only shows the A1 as compatible.

The problem profile:

Updating the profile to all printers didn’t do anything. Still A1 only. Same with changing print order and rearranging the objects.

What’s going on? Bug or something else?

Recently someone else brought up the same thing, it does appear to have something to do with “print by object”.

Thank you. I guess it is a bug then. Other print by object models of mine work just fine. I’m trying to narrow it down but it’s taking half an hour to verify a print profile for some reason lol.

Yeah, that’s been happening lately too. Yesterday I had one that was pending for a few hours. I ended up deleting it and re-uploading it. The second time it only took a few minutes, it’s very sporadic recently.

This is not really a bug, but rather a conservative approach by cloud slicer to ensure widest possible compatibility.

Print by object is a special mode and CoreXY printers (P1/X1) have different restrictions than Bed Slingers (A1/A1 Mini).

On top of that, there’s bed size and restriction zones - if your print has anything inside restricted zone of P1/X1, the slicer will say it’s for A1-only, even if what is inside that zone is just model’s bounding box, not the model itself.

So when slicing and preparing for widest audience, if you don’t want to make profiles dedicated to each printer and taking advantage of each printer’s capabilities, then the 2nd route is to create profile for the most contstrained printer, that is: A1 Mini.

The first Bambu printer I got was an A1. When I got a P1S, I would get errors only allowing the A1 for certain profiles. It turned out to be because I had been using the area on the build plate that is in the P1/X1 exclusion zone. The A1 has no such exclusion zone.

You’re right! I didn’t realize the X1/P1 have all those special zones. My profile does use that space for the A1 and cannot be rearranged. I notice the same thing with the other post linked above, there’s an object right up to the front edge.

Making another profile for all other printers solves my problem.

Thank you guys!

For clarification.

I reported this as a bug back in September.

I was told they couldn’t be bothered.

I asked why we weren’t told and informed a generic unrelated message told us.

I pointed out the limitation was never shared with us at the announcement.

We should be informed that one or more requested targets couldn’t be generated.

You know, communication, that old Chesnut.
