New Firmware catastrophe

I had always perfect prints,
today I updated the new firmware, now all the prints fail,
like this one, it total broke after removing it from the buildplate…
and it looks horrible.

Back to Firmware may first:

Same E-sun PLA+ filament, same project only a mirrored version.
and same settings.

Oh no! I just updated the firmware against my own best judgement. Everything has been working fine and I have my first print on this firmware running right now.

I’ll circle back with the results soon :sob:

@Darktox , when will we learn to not fix what’s not broken?!

hope your print goes OK! Looking forward to your results.

For a quick print, a stamp i am making it came out the same, dont see anything different. Pla plus. Maybe there are issues with longer big prints. this was only 20 minutes on normal and a small print

That’s good news! My print seems to be rolling as normal. I had to cancel it due to selecting wrong PLA color, so running it again.

Did the X1 just release new firmware?

yup

Can you still go back to previous firmware versions? Bambu Handy shows that you still can, but has anyone tried it?

I saw the message and immediately said no. Went to google the change log first, and then the forums. Glad i didn’t accept. I have had 99% good luck with current version and nice prints… Since most of what they added in the change log, i dont care about. i will hold off on it for now.

Interesting… the patch notes made the new firmware update sound very harmless

I updated without too much thinking this afternoon :scream:
I am printing a fairly large model and so far it looks good… I cross my fingers

My print turned out how I expected it to. It’s in standard PLA.

Yes, as in my message, I downloaded an older version. Here’s how:
Firmware doc

Correlation does not imply causation.

I updated firmware and performed a system calibration and then ran a large PETG print.

updated, calibration, no issues with prints so far. though no large prints.

■■■■ Batman I up loaded the new firmware because I could not start printing. I got the message update firmware to be able to print. so installed new firmware and still get the same message.
tried lan mode and still the same problem.
done all the usual things reboot re-install but still no joy.
can only load files via the sd card, prints ok still and can connect with both the app and on the computer.
just won’t print files I send to it,
Also when I send files to the SD card via the computer they don’t show up on the printer but are on the sd card when I put it into the computer.

:unamused: :grimacing:

Developers have to justify their time. I lost count of the number of apps that were great, then update, then an update to fix issues with the last update, another update…My preferred music streaming app has resulted in playing “Whac-A-Mole” if the “User options” are not set to how the app wants them set.

At least we have the option to roll back, and this may be, Bambu Lab should post ALL of their firmware versions on Github in case a body wants to roll back farther than the most recent.

I have not updated since March I think. Works fine for me, I’ll leave it be.

Good for you on resisting the urge to press that update button. For me, I always try to, but end up giving up because of how persistent products can be and it become annoying to keep saying NO.

I would love to see an option to delay update for X days. But I can keep wishing all I want, I’m pretty sure no one would entertain that kind of setting.

Will power man, it’s all about the will power…and discipline…maybe a little fear of change
