New Modeler Can't Upload Model

I’ve only had my first printer for a couple of weeks. I have tried to upload an entry into the Valentines competition with no success. I can’t get to Step Three of the upload process. The program keeps asking me to provide a Printer Profile. I thought that was what I provided in Step 1 when I download the .3mf file. Is there another file type I need to create and download?

I also get to Step 2 and there is some yellow highlighted commentary about me not being qualified to be an “Exceptional Modeler” (I may have the term wrong but I hope readers will recognize the concept). That I need to have published 100 models… I don’t know if this message is blocking my ability to get to Step 3 or not.

I hope someone can shed some light on what I may be doing wrong; explain what a Print Profile is compared to the .3mf file I uploaded; and how or what I must do to clear the Exceptional Modeler issue.

Thanks for any guidance.

It is exclusive model, and 100 of your models must have been printed before.

Thanks for the response. Are you aware of any reason I would receive that notice? And, how to disable it?

Another thought: was the exclusive model commentary telling me that because I had not published 100 models I was not qualified to enter the Valentine contest?

You don’t need to publish a model, you just need 100 prints total for an exclusive model. Somebody could print one of your models 100 times and you would be eligible.

In Step 1 you just add the 3mf file.
In step 2 you need to add model pictures, name, description, etc.
About the Exclusive Model Program: you don’t have to join it, it’s optional. If you want to join the program, you need to have 100 prints of your models (not 100 models published) If you can’t join it now, just skip this step, nothing will happen. And it’s not blocking Step 3 for sure.
Important: make sure all of the fields marked with a red asterisk are completed.
Then you click on the green “Add Print Profile” button and go to Step 3, where you add print profile name, pictures and description and that’s it.

Thank-you for your detailed response.

Step 1, check - I added the 3mf file. Step 2, check - I added one picture, the name of the lithophane, a description of the lithophane image, the items to buy to have the lithophane back-lit and framed. I did try to ignore the Exclusive Model Program commentary. Not sure about the ‘red asterisk’ fields… I then clicked on the “Add Print Profile” button. In a number of attempts, I added the 3mf file again (thought that was redundant but didn’t know what else to do). Is the 3mf file name the Print Profile? How do I create a Print Profile if the 3mf file is not a Print Profile? At my conclusion of Step 3, all I got was a highlighted rectangle indicating the submission was being placed on hold or nothing at all.

I have done this submission process a number of times, then read somewhere not to do multiple submissions + a Forum post by a member last summer indicating similar problems in submitting (substantial time delays between submission and acceptance). Now I am reluctant to resubmit.

I also don’t know what to expect if I have an upload accepted. Where does it show up? Can I search for it by name? I think I read that I have to then (after a successful upload), submit to enter the Valentine contest.

Again, thanks for your help. I hope you can afford the time to clarify my open issues. I will go back and try another upload - at least walk through it to ensure my efforts align with your descriptions. I will add a Post describing what happens…

Crow_ck:

Your guidance led me to find my issue - I had not added a photo of the printed lithophane as a “web / app cover”. I did not know what one was and so left it blank. In review of red asterisks I realized I needed it.

I set up my camera and took the shot, pasted it into the provided location.

I double checked all other red asterisks to be sure they were filled out, submitted the application and it was accepted. After a short wait (~1 hr.) it was approved and showed up when I searched for it.

I then entered it in the Valentines Contest and it showed up there, too! Success.

For a Newbie, I found that process complex mostly because I am not familiar with all the jargon, and tech terms associated with Bambu Labs and 3d printing in general. I wonder if there is a “walk-thru” to help people like me located somewhere (forum, Wiki, other) that I missed in my looking for answers.

If not, I think it might be a valuable assist for others.

In any case, I went back and checked the “Solution” box on your response to my plea. I don’t know if there are other rewards I can assign but let me know if there are any that could be valuable to you.

Thanks again.

Oh, I’m really glad it worked and you managed to add the model. Now I’m keeping my fingers crossed for the contest
Honestly, I have no idea if there is any tutorial that shows how to add models and indeed it’s a bit complicated (especially at the beginning), not very intuitive and there are many fields to fill in. Makerworld should think about it.
