This is my first 3D printer.
Problem
When switching filaments, almost every time, I get an error Failed to pull out the filament from the extruder
.
This only occurs AFTER the current filiment has already been pulled, and the new filiment fed in. For example:
Printing with white, and transitioning to red. The white will successfully pull back, the red will feed in, and then it seems to attempt to pull the red back a bit and feed it in again. It fails here, failing to pull the red back.
If I just hit the Resolved
button, it will retry and succeed in pulling it back every time. With no actual action taken from me.
Why might this be happening?

Problem Areas Explored
- Filament broke off in extruder
- I followed the extruder maintenance guide
- Hot end clogged
- I can print fine once filament is fed in
- PTFE tube high resistance
- I can easily push & pull filiment through the tubes
- PTFE connector to extruder having too sharp of an angle
- I printed the tube guide to avoid a sharp radius, made no difference
- Filament broken off inside AMS
- Took all spools out and closely inspected each tube, was able to push filament through each tube without resistance
