I have a Ender 3 v2 and a A1 Mini. I want to have a printer that can carbon fiber filaments with speed and high quality. I tend to prototype a lot and my other printers can do that fine what is better for final draft X1C or X1E?
If you are entertaining getting the X1E, did you think about the Qidi Plus-4?
No AMS (yet), but just as fast, bigger, higher hot end temp, open software architecture,… and much cheaper!
Have been running a X1E for almost a year now and I can say if you need to run nylon, TPU or even ASA the heated chamber is a godsend. The only potential downside is that you have to buy it from a authorized dealer vs buying directly from Bambu and that they become your first line of support so choose wisely.
I am quite happy with it although I do not yet have much experience with it. Still, got my first PPS-CF benchy yesterday which it printed surprisingly fast.
Carbon-fiber reinforced filaments entail a large number of filaments with different printing requirements.
The X1E has better specs than the X1C but at a higher cost (almost double).
Unless you specifically need the X1E extra features, the X1C seems a better investment.
The recent controversy has had nothing to do with X1Plus. That had its own controversy a year ago.
Bambu did not try to “cripple” the BigTreeTech (Panda) Touch. BTT was warned over a year ago that the “system” they were using to interact with the printer was going to change. BTT warned their customers the product they were producing might not work with the Bambu printers at some point but continued to produce them. Recently Bambu made moves to start that change.
My bad to include that in the same sentence, that BBL tried to cripple x1 plus with recent firmware update, is simply not true. You are correct on this.
What I tried to convey is, 3rd party stuffs are not welcomed by BBL.
I should put it
BBL tried to resist x1 plus and recently cripple 3rd party accessories like BTT touch. Go figure
X1 plus was resisted by BBL from the get go. But since x1 plus did not hack the firmware, and it is not custom firmware by nature, BBL had to let it slide.
