Not allowed to skip a failed object while printing

Any updates on this ? We can’t skip objects on files that we used to skip before ? Is this problem from a firmware update ? Can someone from Bambu staf tell us under what conditions skipping the files shuld work. We are sending our files to the printer SD via cloud and we keep printing them starting the print from the X1C screen.

My problems stopped when I was forced to go back to Bambu Slicer vs. Orca Slicer. All my prints, including older ones now allow skipping. (older ones that were sliced with BS, any sliced with Orca I finally deleted out.)

Same issue for me, i cant skip objects too. But i was able to skip object very long time ago.

The only thing that I know First the print has to go through the cloud. ne sd or lan. Also I do not know of away to do it other hen from the phone app.Hope that helps.

Also, and I know this is obvious, make sure and select all and split into objects before slicing.

^ “No Sd Card or LAN. Sorry, I’m old.”

I’ve just found the solution. I have an A1 mini with the same issue. I’ve always been pressing ‘send print’ on Bambu studio, but I now press print plate. Since it goes through the cloud and not LAN, I can skip objects. I hope this helps!

TL;DR; run prints via the slicer or app, not directly on the printer.

I have both a X1 Carbon and P1S and I’ve had difficulty with skipping parts for my manufacturing runs.

This is what I’ve found out so far:
If you run a print directly from the slicer (Bambu Studios or the phone app) you can skip parts in the app - this is important for the P1S as the small screen does not allow you to skip parts.
If you run a print from the SD card (i.e. selecting print from the printers screen) you cannot skip parts via the app anymore. This is important for the P1S, because now you cannot skip parts either way. The X1C you can still skip but only via the printers screen.

I’ll update this post as I perform more runs.
Hope this helps!

i sliced in bambu studio and sent to printer through cloud and still trouble skipping and not always just when it wants to be pain in ass … would like this fixed asap since these are high end machines they need to work on fixing their problems that are now popping up

Just throwing out this option, I had a print that was 2 identical objects that, often, one or the other would fail. One day I could no longer use the skip option (irritated). These were a super tight fit to get them both on one board Sooo I “merged” them together at one point to keep them in their perfectly placed alignment. They still looked like 2 objects but now Bambu Studio only sees ONE object. Thus not able to skip anymore.
Just in case it helps.

Agreed, this is very irritating.

So, in bambu studio I have a plate with 8 seperate objects (I assume if you merge parts the gcode treats that as one object and cannot skip) - use the right click >> Split >> Objects - if it is one big object.
Default 0.2mm print profile and send to print (P1S)
Then I’m able to skip via the phone app (iOS) through the Devices screen

For repeat prints the only way I’ve got that to work is via the phone app Print History (Me >> Print History) - select the print and do Print Again.

Not sure why this is so convoluted, as the printers are clearly capable of doing these things.

We use Bambu Lab P1S in a Printfarm and it would be great to be able to start prints from the SD card or via Pandatouch, while still making it possible to skip a failed object. Skipping objects through Bambu Studio would be appreciated!

In such occasion, can I switch my computer off when the print starts?

Yes, Studio doesn’t ever stream gcode to the printer. It sends it all at once at the start of a print.

Thank you very much for your reply.

For everyone who has issue skipping . i founded out if you get that message sometimes on the phone. but if you truly want to skip a part go to the screen in x1c on the print click skip parts. and you notice it still wont let you just to click the one you want like it will just zoom onto it right. well guess what that little window that shows the part you want all zoom in click in that window and it will select the part you want to skip. still no fix to do it on the phone but. at least on the printer its still possible
