My brand new 0.2mm nozzle would get clumping or spegetti on first 3 attempts. Stopped it pretty quickly, but now realized that the PET-HG was gone under the rubber cover and engulfed the clip holder as well. Looks super messy. Printer is fairly new and nozzle was brand new. Any suggestions how to clean this effectively and easily and also why this is happening?

One thing that leads to that with PETG is too high of filament moisture. It can cause the filament to curl as it leaves the extruder and if it reaches back up to the extruder it can attach and act like a lava tube that pumps molten filament where it shouldn’t be.
When just extruding like a filament change purge, it should just exit the nozzle straight without curling.
Little bits that stick to the nozzle from calibration stripes or picked up during printing can also deflect the stream to cause problems.
On cleanup, you can use the extruder heater itself to help soften that up and make it easier to pull away. Be careful of any small wires if present. Might refer to photos in the wiki of your extruder to know what’s safe to pull on.
Thanks! Do you just heat it by turning nozzle temp up or externally somehow (hot air gun?). I find the clip wires themselves dont get hot enough to melt the PETG just through nozzle slot heat. 2. Is there a way to just replace the clip assembly? Thanks.
Hot air gun works great if you take the nozzle off of the printer.
If it is on the printer, just heat it through the printer settings (this helps mitigate damage to other components.
Having a little bit of residue on there is not a big deal, just get most of it.
Yes. But it is not worth it unless you damaged the wires or it is a really bad blob. This one is not that bad.
