So I uploaded a new model and MW marked it as NSFW. At first I thought why would this be marked as NSFW? … but then I thought about it and its a Chinese company and over there its probably not safe to look at something like this at work. ![]()
Also my “joint locker” type models are not marked as NSFW. So smoking = good, politics = bad. So keep smoking and stay out of politics! ![]()
Most likely someone reported it and moderator clicked “yah” while thinking “i’m not paid enough to care” ![]()
Plus some people have TDS so seeing Trump in any context (be it positive or negative) gives them immediate need to go into report spree. I remember a tantrum one user threw because of “tag abuse” while actually it was “me saw trump and got mad”: User is abusing tags to get irrelevant models in search results
Politics is stupid and some people are acting like football hooligans about it. It’s all so tiresome.
Agree with everything you said, people are way too riled up over Trump.
Make and share whatever ya want, but some people are acting like football hooligans and other ones are being put in concentration camps and xferred to 3rd world labor camps, so y’know, … the memes you post are so orthoganal to the kinda influence in play that no ones going to ever move that needle, but it’s just a little extra ugly when you are profiting from it. Hugo boss made bank and somehow came out the other end unscathed, who knows.
I’ve checked - seems like when mod marks model as NSFW it’s not marked as such in the model config. I was about to suggest simply unmarking the model, but that doesn’t seem to be the case…
You can try mark the model as NSFW yourself and then unmark it back to see whether it changes anything. If that doesn’t help, maybe support request to get a reasonable person to see the model and see it’s not “adult content” (by adult content one usually means: Sexually explicit content, graphic violence or mature themes such as offensive language and drug use)
(ps: drug use meets “mature theme” standard, so theoretically joint locker should be nsfw, but seems like it’s not triggering)
So I opened a ticket and apparently someone complained (of course) and the offensive line was “Great gift for the Trump lover or hater in your life”. Apparently people dont understand humor, the laughing emoji at the end was not a big enough clue for them. I removed that one word… lets see what they say now.
I mean, if I had to set up the system I’d even do some automated flagging based on an “x amount of reports in x amount of hours.” So if yours gets reported 10 times in 3 months, it’s a non-issue and certain people just feel like complaining about everything. On the other hand, 10 times in 3 hours is probably something that should get auto-flagged and then send to somebody for review.
Oh okay, so it’s basically “hate speech” (no pun intended)… kinda how people on YouTube now use the word unaliveing or how dislike buttons are not allowed anymore. Maybe “h8er” is not on the list of blocked words. ![]()
Be grateful you were only marked as NSFW and didn’t have your models removed.
I received this with a takedown note attached to two models.
Dear user,
We have received your appeal and after careful review, we regret to inform you that your appeal has been unsuccessful.
The removal of this model is due to the presence of sensitive content, which includes but is not limited to concerns related to child safety, explicit thumbnails, nudity and sexual content, discussions of suicidal and self-harm, as well as the use of vulgar language.
We prioritize the creation of a safe and respectful environment for all users.
Please be mindful of our community guidelines, refraining from uploading content that falls within these sensitive categories. We understand that you may be disappointed with this outcome, but we must prioritize maintaining a fair and trustworthy platform for all users.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
What could I have possibly done to get such a takedown?
I designed a drinks coaster and a fidget spinner featuring specific artwork.
Who thinks they know the artwork’s subject matter?
- Nazi swastika
- Trump MAGA logo
- A country’s flag
- A naked couple “coupling”
It was a country flag.
It was deemed so offensive it warranted immediate removal for ridiculous reasons. A pen may be mightier than the sword, but the flag of an internationally recognised country was too much for their sensibilities.
How a country that portrays itself as so strong can be cowed by rectangle material is beyond me.
The problem with doing business with a Chinese company is they are at the foot of an oppressive regime they can’t fight. While I can’t blame them per se, how they handled it was childish.
Imagine seeing this under your models that are not publicly available and can’t be edited.

Instead of this.

I just love “which includes but is not limited to”… also, nudity… just by itself? I mean that’s gonna make that whole upcoming Greek Mythology contest so much more difficult. I mean when did Zeus not do “couple” stuff. Funny though with all the stuff mentioned above that is “bad”… the theme seems to consider these things here non-issues…
Join our Greek Mythology-themed contest by designing legendary weapons such as Zeus’s Thunderbolt, Poseidon’s Trident, or Athena’s Aegis.
Makerworld is full of most of those.
Child safety? Heres a throwing star with razor blades…
Nudity and sexual content? Vulgar language? There’s hundreds of examples of all that.
MW blocks the word Lego and Labubu but it doesn’t block the F bomb…
This forum blocks it but if you go to MW it isn’t blocked and its not even marked NSFW.
But a flag was a bridge too far… that’s wild.
I updated my answer above to explain what the offending model was that caused such an undignified backlash.
WW2 era German flag by any chance? We need more details and a photo ideally. ![]()
Nope.
That wasn’t a country flag and a different option.
T****n.
Turkmenistan?
Not one of the 'stans.
The number of asterisks equal the missing letters.
Did you add the asterisks or did the forum censor it?
Tatarstan? … … … … … … … … … … … .
Me.
Given the ■■■■ treatment the moderators have been showing me, I am not walking into a trap.
- Victim blaming
- Gaslighting
- Making up statistics to demote my trust level.
The corruption is wild.
Come on!
