We haven’t had an X1 firmware update for months now, got an AMS one the other day, but have been hoping for a printer one to finally fix the chamber fan issues…

The offline update feature is one of the most obnoxious parts of Bambu’s “walled garden.” Why must we be forced to contact the mothership in China to update our own property? What if the very problem that is being troubleshot is related to the Internet connection itself? Then what does one do?

It’s obvious that the Bambu resellers (the only place you can purchase an X1E) told them that the X1E is a non-starter for the market it was intended for – the business enterprise market – if it can’t be completely supported in an offline wired-only mode. If I asked my company to support any 3rd party device that connects to China through our WiFi I would get laughed out of the IT department and told three answers; No, Hell No and F*ck NO!!!

If Bambu were actually truthful about “valuing” their customers, they would have made this feature available across all their models. Only time will tell whether their words can be backed up by actual deeds.

If history is any indication I would say Bambu does follow through with the announcements that they may make. They might not nail the timeline perfectly but it does happen in the end.

We can only hope. From your lips to God’s ears.
