X1E now supports offline firmware update

The latest firmware release for the X1E implemented the offline MicroSD firmware upgrade support, for customers that wish to keep their printers offline. Our team is already working on implementing the same feature for the X1C and then, for the A1 and P1 series, in the following months

This is great, can’t wait for it to come to the P1S

I hadn’t even thought that I wasn’t able to do this lol. This would potentially help eliminate upgrade failures also since it wouldn’t be downloading/installing but a simple SD > Install.

Bravo! Bambu Lab!

That’s a long overdue… and long awaited for, firmware update. Looking forward to see it released for, and run on my X1C asap…

Sounds good - will look forward to it on the A1 Mini along with downloadable firmware versions

Any updates on finally allowing to connect by IP to a printer?

In my opinion, this is even worse than having no offline updates. Who cares about firmware updates, if you can’t even use your printer without running additional scripts outside BambuStudio, or using microSD like in the stone-age.

If the printer’s SSDP packet cannot be received by the slicer due to the network setup, no printer is available. Only with a script to send a fake SSDP packet, containing the printer’s IP address, from localhost to localhost, it is possible to use the printer in LAN only mode.

Almost two years and still not possible to connect by IP :man_facepalming:

It doesn’t seem to work if you have multiple slicer windows open either, only the first instance receives the SSDP advertisements, open additional windows and go to devices and there is nothing there. Why doesn’t it properly share the list between windows? Why did no one test this basic capability? Why isn’t it using MDNS like nearly every other modern IOT device (e.g. ESPHome)?

Why not simply just open source the slicer network plugin so the community can fix these problems for you! Its not like we don’t already know how it communicates via MQTT so there is no reason not to publish it IMHO.
