P1 successor design thoughts

I am sure this has been done to death but here goes.

Only had the P1S for a week now and it has been running constantly since. Really enjoying it but a few things strike me as could be better.

First the power switch. Please Bambu, put this on the side or front in future models. At the very least, in sleep mode make the lights on the AMS also switch off. We are in a world where we should be considering energy efficiency and this should always be considered in a design.

Next are the connectors on the rear. Please make the release latches accessible. Seems such a simple change for ease of us.

Next is the routing of the internal PTFE tube. It rubs on the glass lid and already I can see wear. I have a 25m roll purchased for other printers but I think I can see me using quite a lot on the P1S

The amount of poop is not only excessive, but shouldn’t really ping around the inside of the printer so often. While it hasn’t ruined a print yet, it has the potential to do so quite easily. Please sort both of these.

Cooling for PLA could be better without having to remove the top glass. We place the AMS there and while I know I can, and will, print a riser I am sure you can do better.

Please also consider the noise if this machine. Compared to for instance Prusa or oven your own A1 machines, the could made by this machine is quite extreme. A friend has 24 Prusa MK4S machines and currently 6 Bambu P1S machines in his print farm and the 6 drown out the 24 by a noticeable amount. I can imagine print farms with many Bambu machines and the operators having to wear ear protection. For those that use these printers in their homes the sound must be really annoying to the point where they are used a lot less than their owners would like.

As for the rest, I don’t mind the screen as I use the app or studio so no real need, at least for me, to improve that. Interior lighting could be better but it doesn’t bother me, nor does the quality of the camera.A wired LAN port would be nice, especially in print farms, and maybe a USB-C port so users can power and control external cameras through Studio.

The P1S is a relly nice printer and for me al, of the above are minor things that would make a good product better, and worth upgrading to in the future.

1: Don’t see point of having it on side, especially not on front of the printer.

2: 6 Pin cable connector is difficult to remove from buffer/AMS hub due to latch facing the printer

3: I have over 1000 hours since November and don’t see any major deterioration with the hottend PTFE tube

4: Just print a poop chute cover

5: What issues are you having woth PLA cooling, never had any and I print almost exclusively PLA with the chamber door closed

This should be merged with the existing topic dedicated to the identical subject matter.

I used to work in the laser printer industry and not having an easily accessible power switch was often a source of complaint about one brand. Others like HP made a big effort, and still do, to place a power switch in a decent spot.

Surely a poop chute cover is a simple design feature that could be included in future designs. Many agree, the amount of poop is a bit ott.

You might not have seen wear in the tube, but I have seen signs of it already and after that I did a little research and it seems others have too. The AMS riser (also designed so you can vent heat when printing PLA) would cure that. Or maybe future designs could take this into consideration.

As for PLA, the only brand I have had trouble with is Bambu basic. I left the door shut and the glass on printing a poop chute for instance and there were issues that were due to chamber heat. Eryone PLA printed very well but I did open the door. If printing tall, thin walls such as the poop chute print there was warping due to heat. It is a known problem.
