P1P Overture PETG Profile Anyone?

Hi everyone! I’ve been trying to get a good profile for PETG for a while now using Overture White PETG. I’m using OrcaSlicer and I’m still not able to fine tune everything perfectly, so I was wondering if anyone was open to sharing their profile settings that work best? I’m re-running all of the calibration right now, but things I’m not able to test for like speed, retraction, fans, etc would be extremely helpful!

0.4mm hardened nozzle or stainless ?

For Overture PETG (which is not that great by the way) I need the nozzle temp higher than the default max temp on the spool (not the slicer) with the hardened nozzle

Stainless nozzle the print temps are on the money with the highest recommended print temp on the spool itself

Also watch your speeds, too high or too low of a print speed will create a troubleshooting nightmare

My go to for PETG is Tronxy btw, prints nice and very easy to dial in

I print exclusively with PETG, and mostly Overture on my X1C. I use the generic PETG profile, and it works perfectly.

I too run my Overture PETG at 260-265C even though the spool says max 250. This is with the hardened steel nozzle 0.4mm that comes on the X1C. The Overture PETG has worked well for me over the last 4yrs and it’s cheap and readily available. I tune the speeds on each print depending on what it is and how much detail I need.

I used to use a lot of Overture filaments but found that since it became super popular the quality is inconsistent

Sometimes it prints perfectly and another spool of the exact same is either not wound up nicely or needs to be dialed/tuned differently

Tronxy is extremely consistent from spool to spool but recently I’ve been using Mech Solutions which is priced well, fits perfectly in the AMS and is affordable

I just got some White Overture PETG and was printing awfully with the generic PETG profile. Temperature tower suggested 275C and now with 1 mm retraction at 35 mm/s is working flawlessly. I hope it helps.

Could you explain to me where to find those settings to adjust? I adjusted the default PETG profile and created a new one for Overture PETG. Is the retraction setting on the printer? And which speed setting do you set to 35mm/s? Thanks.

I have spent dozens of hours and many test prints trying to dial in the temperature and K factor for Overture PETG, and as soon as I fix one issue then another shows up.

Defaults don’t seem to work great and I’ve tried only mildly changing things like temp, K factor, et al.

I could really use some insight and specific details to get this figured out.

I finally found this post and it’s made a huge improvement. Need to do a bit of tweaking to get it a bit more dialed in.

I’m happy you are making progress with your petg…

I do change petg speeds and the volumetric setting for the part or petg filament being used the outer wall can be 100 mm/s or less and this can even affect the overhangs speeds on some parts also the first layer infill will affect bridges with zero z gap on supports this is why my setting is @ 40 mm/s

Would you mind sharing your settings please?

My comment already links to the settings I used which someone else posted.

Holy moly! I don’t know how I missed that link. Maybe it was because I was on my phone and this forum software takes some getting used to. Thank you!

I implemented 3D Tech’s Profile and the Z Offset G-Code and my calibration cube came out great. I’m printing a drawer for the AMS Riser v2 right now and it is going much better for the most part. I do get a bit of stringing and I get odd crumbles of PETG just laying around, but so far so good. I’ll tweak after the drawer is finished based on how it turns out.

What was missing from those settings was the Cooling settings. @3DTech would you be so kind as to share those for PETG? I didn’t see them in the other thread.

Thank you again!

Excellent! I’m so glad it helped you as much as it helped me. I have about the same kind of issues, but I haven’t figured out how to get it fixed and it works well enough for me.

What exactly parameters do you set en your bambú lab?? I have a X1C
