My upgrade kit arrived yesterday so I excitedly unpacked everything and started putting it together. The videos provided by bambulab were excellent and it was all generally pretty smooth. The only issue I did have was the wifi antenna when replacing the front panel. The videos show it able to be popped out, though my unit had a significant amount of adhesive on the corners and the bottom surface. This thing was so well adhered I needed to trim the plastic cover from the edges so I could get a razor blade under to gently pry it from the plastic. It took a while and I managed to get it out without breaking it, works fine now with everything assembled. Just a heads up for anything that comes across the same issue, take your time, the antenna itself feels super flimsy!
I will be creating a topic in hopes Bambu sees this is not as straight forward as a process as it could be. I ended up using a heat gun to get mine out and actually melted the P1P front panel and ever so slightly warped the antenna PCB. It doesn’t just “pop out” like they show.
Do you also have the G code set. It is also not entirely clear how to do it.
I still have to wait for my upgrade to ship.
I used a flat head screw driver. Popped right out.
Would like to add that my experience with removing the front panel involved a wifi antenna that had more than enough adhesive on the corners to hold it in place but then also had a double stick sheet under the antenna that covered it’s entire circuit board that made removal impossible and ended up snapping the antenna wire, so I need to have that replaced before I print anything else because I don’t want to go through the process of removing the front panel. For anyone that sees this, cheers. It is not NEARLY as easy as the guides make it look.
