Just when I thought all was resolved the binding issue started again. This time I stripped the machine down and when I had the lead screws out and the linear rods I found the bearing on the right linear rod was sticking on the shaft. Removed the bearing and fitted a new one/ I have printed two items now and they have printed fine with no miss steps showing on the prints. I now believe the printer is sorted out. There was a rust build up inside the bearing causing the small ball bearings to seize. Thank goodness I started printing with bed slingers and having to tinker to make things work LOL. Have fun guys and print a new world for tomorrow the sky is the limit.
Where did you get the spare bearing?
online from one of the 3d printer supply companies locally. I am away from home now for 2 months so I cant give you more details other than it is a standard bearing. Think it is a LM8UU
Hi, all 3 of my linear rod bearings are out of place. Is there a how to remove/replace them? My printer won’t level and keeps giving my an error. Thanks I’m advance.
send a picture of where your bearings are situated
I had mine push up to the top I just used a gas plier and pressed them back into place. Make sure to get some lube spray and force the lubricant into the bearing to remove moisture.
I wish I had read this sooner, I followed the wiki article and go the screw tip flush with the nut and ended up twisting the other side (which is kept from turning by being in contact with the magnetic sheet) and got the magnetic sheet messed up
