Some people including myself are having issues with the printer “shutting off” mid print for few seconds and then starting back up and resuming print. Has happened to me 3 times today during the same print. The screen goes blank but the screen LED is still on. The inside light goes off, the print head stops and few seconds later it starts back up and continues the print. Is there a known issue?
printing from the sd card?
The P series uses the SD card to cache the print gcode so the SD card is always used unlike the X series that caches the print gcode locally.
Thanks. I may have known that but I doubt it.
Sounds like op has issues with the sd card.
both my printers do the same thing, In mid print or just in stand by.
No. Using the Bambu slicer.
I wanted to chime in with my experience as well. My three (almost four) month old P1S (with AMS) has paused twice now over the last two days. Both times I was standing right in front of it. Yesterday it paused for about 30 seconds and then continued, as if nothing had happened, and finished the model without issue. Today, while printing a different model, both the main display and the Panda Touch went dark, as if power had been removed and restored (both the P1S and my PC are on the same UPS and the PC stayed on). The Panda Touch reconnected with the P1S, and again, after about 30 seconds, the print resumed. The pause today was about an hour and a half into a four-hour print (it’s still printing with 40 minutes remaining). Both of these “pauses” have occurred since I updated the P1S’s firmware (about three or four days ago), and both have happened about an hour in. After reading through this thread, I’m wondering if I should replace the SD card with a new “high end” brand. I had begun to believe this machine was flawless, not so much, I guess.
I’ve had my P1S do this at least twice to me today as well, I’ve never seen it do something like that until today and It had me pretty worried. I’ve only had it for around 2 months or so and suddenly lately it seems like it’s starting to act up and get an attitude. I maintain it and take care of it, so I’m really not sure what the problem could be and would like to find out as well.
I doubt it’s anything to be overly concerned about. If you’d like to see if it was the firmware upgrade you can revert back using the handy app.
While it is an issue, I believe it’s either a network or software issue which can easily be resolved once Bambu is notified of the issue. Since the print continues with no issues, I’m not very concerned at the moment. Just wanted to bring it to their attention.
Same think happened to me today 1 week old p1s
I mean it’s not a huge concern I suppose, but it is leaving a blob where it stops. Which could crash the print at some point. Hopefully this is fixed soon.
Same thing happening with my P1P, after the new firmware update. I’ve heard a few people have had the same issue with the new firmware
Thankfully I didn’t get any blobs. Whether it would have, if it had paused for any longer than it did, I don’t know. Both times I was printing a toy for my 4-year-old grandson, and he was very concerned . You how four-year-olds can get, now instead of “are we there yet?” it’s “is it done yet?”
yes the same thing is happening to me
+1, same exact issue on a 2 week old p1s.
same Problem here P1P and on a new A1 Mini
If you guys switch to LAN mode, does it still happen?
Since i updated the firmware of my p1s two days ago it is happening to mee too. Every print the printer pauses, interior light and display turn off and back on.
+1, just occurred for me as well. Printer paused with screen backlight still on but cabin light shut off. App then reported tool head error, and then the print resumed.
