This is my first 3D printer and with the exception of a loose ribbon cable inside the AMS, the printer has been flawless. I’ve seen a lot of people talking about having some issues around the 100 hour mark but so far I’m at 200 hours in 17 days and it’s been perfect. I noticed black streaking on the rods (it looked like scratches) around 40-50 hours so I went ahead and cleaned and lubricated everything. Since then everything looks clean and shiny so I’m glad I took the time to do maintenance early instead of waiting. With that said, now I’m starting to eye the H2S to go along with this one. I thought about buying another P2S but didn’t want to regret not getting the larger bed for a second printer. I like the idea of having a large print going while still being able to print smaller items at the same time.
Anyway I just wanted to give a quick update on the initial reliability of my P2S. Not that my opinion matters, but IMO it was a steal for the price.
I too had to clean and lubricate the x-axis rods at about 200 hours due to drying up and getting black streaks. I went ahead and did the y-axis rods too. Probably not a bad idea to do straight out of the box as it seems Bambu may be skimping a little bit.
My P2S has done 460h of printing now (95% ABS) and stilll works like it did on day 1. I’m cleaning it on a regular basis as well as lubricating it. From my perspective it’s a very good printer.
My PS2 is now at 508 hours and still performing like new. I went ahead and purchased the H2S also and currently have 241 hours on it without any issues. I cleaned and lubricated everything on the H2S after the first 20 hours or so.
